Today I'm writing a diary about a grocery shopping at 07/09/2026 . I hope everybody will enjoy my writing.
Bananas
It was a normal weekday. After finishing my work at office, I came back towards home & stopped at the roadside bazaar in front of my house in Mohammadpur. I needed some vegetable items & a few household essentials, so I decided to do the shopping before going upstairs.
I brought okra, eggplant, green bananas, papaya, cucumber, long beans & a few other vegetables. While looking at the protable stalls, I was thinking about how expensive even the simplest food items have become. These days, it is hard to find vegetables bellow 100 taka, or around one US dollar. Even this things that were considered cheap now cost quiet a lot.
The roadside vendors also usually charge a little more than the regular retail market. But since the bazaar is right in front of my house, it saves me the extra time & trouble of going somewhere else after a long day at work.
Dried fish
After that I went to a grocery shop & brought rice, soybean oil, potatoes, flour, & some other necessities. These are basic things that, we need at home regularly, yet their prices keep increasing. It feels like the same amount of money that was enough for a fairly big shopping bag before now brings home much less.
The constant rise in the cost of daily necessities has made inflation something we experience personally. We can see it while choosing vegetables, checking the price of cookig oil, or simply paying the bill at the counter. There is hardly any part of our regular household shopping that has remained untouched.

By the time I finished shopping, I was carrying several bags & thinking about the pressure these prices are putting on an ordinary family budget. Then I finally came home with my groceries.
