First, I want to say that the fish market here is not actually clean and each seller sits here and there which is very unsuitable for the environment, especially disturbing vehicle movement and creating problems for passengers.

The fish market always remains muddy. In rainy season the condition is the worst and in scorching sun the condition is almost the same.

Honestly, you always have to stay afraid that mud might spoil your pants and body. You have to step very carefully.

The price of Hilsa fish is 1200 Taka per kg. But smaller sizes are also here — 600 Taka per kg to 500 Taka per kg.

But at this time, especially in the evening, fish prices become a bit lower. Our office ends around 5 PM as we are general shift mill managers.

After office we two came out for the market. Actually, entering the market first means entering the fish market. First we saw fish, asked “Uncle, how much per kg for this glass fish?” The seller said 300 Taka per kg.

Then we saw more fish such as shrimp, farmed Koi fish. But there was also a good seller who brings fish from the beel (wetland). He had Rohu fish. The price asked was 360 Taka per kg.

But since we wanted to buy all the fish, we clearly said if 300 Taka per kg then give all.

The seller said several prices but we insisted at 300. Finally he gave us all. After selling, he left because he had only those. In total, there were four pieces of Rohu fish weighing 8 kg.
