Mainamati Archaeological Memorial Museum is one of the most important historical and archaeological sites in Bangladesh. It is located in the Mainamati area near the city of Comilla. This museum preserves various artifacts of the history, culture, religious traditions, and lifestyle of ancient Bengal. It is a very interesting place for history lovers, researchers, students, and general visitors. The objects found in a temple dedicated to Buddhism in ancient times are displayed here. The Mainamati Museum was built in 1965. My hometown is Comilla. I have shown below about this archaeological memorial museum in my city of Comilla through the Steem-atlas pin code.
From the late 19th century to 1955, extensive archaeological excavations were carried out in the Mainamati-Lalmai region. A large number of ancient artifacts were recovered from the ruins of various Buddhist monasteries and temples, including Shalban Vihar, Ananda Vihar, Kotila Mura, Charpatra Mura, and Itakhola Mura. This museum, facing west, was established in 1965 on the south side of Shalban Vihar to preserve these invaluable historical treasures in a safe place and to display them to the general public. The museum is open to tourists every day from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, except on weekends, by purchasing a ticket for 30 taka or 6 Steem. The museum is controlled by the Department of Archaeology, a government agency of our country.
| Visitor Type | Price |
|---|---|
| Domestic(Adult) | 30 Taka or 6 Steem |
| SAARC Countries | 200 Taka or 40 Steem |
| Foreign | 400 Taka or 80 Steem |
When I visited the Mainamati Archaeological Memorial Museum, it felt like I had gone back to Bengal hundreds of years ago. Various artifacts of ancient civilizations are beautifully arranged in each gallery of the museum. Clay pots, terracotta plaques, stone sculptures, bronze statues, gold and silver coins, ornaments, inscriptions, and various artifacts are preserved here. By looking at these artifacts, we can learn a lot about the art, culture, and lifestyle of our ancestors. Taking pictures and videos inside the museum is prohibited. Even then, I took some pictures with permission. But I could not record the video.
The Mainamati region was once an important center of Buddhist civilization. The ruins of many ancient monasteries, temples, and religious structures have been discovered here. The valuable artifacts recovered from these places have been preserved in this museum. Each object in the museum bears an important testimony to the past history of our country. When entering the museum, a map of the entire region is given, which we can use to learn about ancient history.
The environment of the museum is very beautiful, clean, and calm. The green plants and open environment around soothe the minds of the visitors. The identity and brief description of the artifacts are written in each gallery, so that the visitors can easily know about them. The museum is also well managed in terms of security and conservation. Security has been controlled by CCTV cameras. In addition, there are employees at a certain distance from the museum to control security.

The best part of the Mainamati Museum is that it plays an important role in preserving the heritage of our country. People from different parts of the country come here to learn about the rich history of ancient Bengal. Foreign tourists also visit this museum to get an idea about the historical heritage of Bangladesh. As a result, it is also making an important contribution to the country's tourism industry. I have shared some pictures of ancient history using Buddhism.

Finally, I would like to say that the Mainamati Archaeological Memorial Museum is not just a museum, but a priceless treasure trove of thousands of years of history, culture, and tradition of Bangladesh. Every artifact preserved here reminds us of our glorious past. By visiting this museum, people can gain new knowledge about history and become respectful of the country's heritage. Therefore, I would advise everyone to visit this historical place at least once if they get the opportunity.

I would like to invite my Steemian friend @sojib1996 to visit the Mainamati Archaeological Memorial Museum in Comilla. I believe that he will love this place as he has an interest in history and archaeology.
During my trip to Mainamati, I got the opportunity to see numerous valuable artifacts of ancient Bengali history and Buddhist civilization up close. The clean environment of the museum, the beautifully preserved artifacts, and the peaceful natural beauty around me impressed me. Through this trip, I learned a lot of new information about the rich heritage of our country. I believe that my Steemian friend will also have a beautiful, educational, and memorable experience by coming here.
