Dinajpur Medical College Hospital is one of the most important government medical institutions in North Bengal. It is located in my hometown Dinajpur. Patients from different districts of Rangpur division come here for treatment. Due to advanced medical services, expert doctors and trained nursing staff, the hospital has become a place of trust for the people of the region. Especially for pregnant mothers.

Dinajpur Medical College Hospital was established in 1992. Initially, it started with limited beds and some basic departments, but gradually its scope increased. The previous name of this hospital was M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital but its current name is this. This hospital has three parts. Separate for offerings and separate buildings for classes and hospitals. Currently, it is being run as a full-fledged medical college hospital.

The hospital is located on the main road of Dinajpur city, so the transportation system is relatively easy. You can reach Dinajpur city by direct bus from Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Nilphamari, Panchagarh and other nearby districts. You can easily reach the hospital by auto-rickshaw or rickshaw from the city bus stand. Dinajpur railway station is connected to North Bengal. The hospital is 1 kilometer away from the station, so you can go by rickshaw or auto-rickshaw. There is a specific parking arrangement in front of the hospital for parking cars. So you can also come by private car.

There are many government and private ambulances inside the hospital. These ambulances are available to transport patients 24 hours a day. Government ambulances do not charge any money apart from the government fee. They get their salary from the hospital. On the other hand, private ambulances have to be paid in advance. There is a big flower garden in the hospital grounds. There are many trees in this garden. A worker works in this garden every day.

The highway is very noisy because it is next to the hospital. So you can hear the sound of honking all the time. However, honking in front of the hospital is completely prohibited. There is a help desk outside the hospital from where you can rent different types of ambulances and learn about the various activities of the hospital. If you talk outside, it is possible to get all the treatment inside the hospital.

There is a big auto stand inside the hospital. From where you can rent an auto if you want. There are numerous autos here that transport various types of patients locally. However, the fare here is comparatively much higher. There is an emergency department on the ground floor of the hospital. From where the patient is taken to the apartment above. The emergency department of Dinajpur Government Medical College works at a long distance.

There are many small shops inside the hospital for light snacks. One of them is this small almond shop. There are many fresh almonds available here and they always sell hot almonds. There are many security measures inside the entire hospital and for any kind of payment, you must do it through mobile banking. I like the district hospital a lot more.
