Satisfying bean-potato fritters with home-made bolbi
The presence of fish and meat in our daily diet is almost regular. Especially in the busyness of urban life or out of habit, eating heavy food has become a rule. But after eating delicious food like meat or fish for a few days in a row, the taste of the mouth goes away, the tongue gets bored. The mind then looks for something that is very simple yet hearty. At such a moment, we remember a very simple curry or fritter from our mother's hands. The same thing happened to me today. The taste of the mouth had become dull after eating heavy food for the last few days. So I decided, today I will cook a very simple yet very delicious fritter, which will instantly bring back the taste of the mouth.

The main attraction of this dish is 'bolbi', which is deeply connected to our rural tradition and culture. This traditional food made from a mixture of rice, pumpkin and lentils is dried in the sun and preserved for the whole year. I brought the beans used in my cooking from my village with utmost care. When these beans are fried in oil in the urban mechanical life, the wonderful aroma that comes out instantly takes us back to our childhood days. The village's mellow paths, foggy mornings and the smell of curry boiling in the oven seem to float before our eyes. The main purpose of adding these beans to the beans today was to regain that lost rural flavor.

The cooking is as simple as its ingredients are simple. I have taken fresh green beans and potatoes as the main ingredients. First, I washed the beans well and cut them into small pieces. Along with this, a potato has been chopped. Sufficient onion and green chili have been chopped to spread the aroma and moderate spiciness in the cooking. Heat oil in a pan and first fry the onion and chili until lightly golden. Then mix the pre-fried pumpkin, beans and potatoes together and stir over medium heat. These simple cooking steps transform the simple ingredients into an extraordinary taste.

The taste of this bean bhaji and machamche bhaji with hot rice is truly incomparable. What a grand arrangement of fish and meat cannot do, a simple plate of hot rice and this bhaji can do effortlessly.

It is not only a food that fills the stomach, it is also a big part of the satisfaction of the mind. In our busy lives, we often lose the joys of the simplest foods. But sometimes such cooking reminds us that ultimate satisfaction is actually hidden in very simple and ordinary things.
