Jhinuk market, Cox's Bazar
ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the countless mercy of Allah, I am also doing well. Today I will talk to you about an interesting place located in the southeastern region of Bangladesh. It is situated in Cox's Bazar district of the Chattogram Division, and I will discuss the Jhinuk Market next to Sugandha Beach. If you go just one kilometer north from Cox's Bazar Dolphin Mor, you will find Sugandha Beach.
In the darkness of night, I couldn't take any pictures of this shell market or any signboards. However, I don't even know if it exists because this market isn't of very high quality or famous brands. It's a small market and looks like a hawkers' market. But whatever is available here, it's truly exquisite. The shell market is a very important market near Sugandha Beach. Everything related to shells can be found in this market; whatever belongs to the shell category is all available here.
In the picture above, you can see that various things have been made using seashells – dolls have been made, and then beautiful leaves have been created. These, you can think, enhance the beauty of a home, and if placed in nice spots in the wardrobe, they display beauty. Additionally, these can be used to make keychains, and then hung from the ceiling to decorate beautifully like flowers. Also, I heard from the shopkeeper at the store I visited that they collect these seashells from by the sea, and then use machines to make various items.
Although this market is called the Shell Market, besides shells, you can find quite a few other items here. For example, you can get various clothing items like T-shirts, Punjabi suits, sarees, and three-piece suits. In addition, you will find different types of shoes here, including both expensive and cheap ones. However, I have noticed that the prices here are a bit higher compared to other markets. I am sharing some pictures below where you can see what else is available in this Shell Market.

However, there are quite a few foods here that are somewhat traditional, and some of these foods cannot be found elsewhere but are available here. For this reason, most people who come here to visit buy some to take home as souvenirs. Additionally, I took several pictures of items made from shells, and I am also well aware of their prices. I won't say much about the prices since this is a tourist spot, so it's normal for them to be a bit higher than elsewhere.
This was a reflection of a small shell market by the seaside, a shell market review that I am presenting to you. I felt that this is a perfect place where tourists would come to visit when they are at a tourist spot. And the most important thing about the sea is, through shells, many things can be made, and we can easily get those items. I think the location is right, and the shops are very good, although the prices are a bit high; this is certainly something to keep in mind.
