Shaheed Sukanto Babu Children Park, Barisal

Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the endless mercy of Allah, I am also doing very well. Today, I will talk to you about a children's park, which is located in Barishal district in the southwest of Bangladesh. The name of this park is Shaheed Sukanta Babu Children's Park. Even though this is an old park, it is very beautiful and a wonderful place for children.

This address is very easy to recognize because it is located in an area just a walking distance from any part of Barishal city. If you ask any rickshaw driver here, they can easily take you there. A little history: In 1992, Shaheed Sukanta Babu and others established a children's park in Oscilla. Although it wasn't really a children's park back then, they created various things for children to use it as a park. In this park, there is a river nearby and a small pond, making it very beautiful.

This seemed like the perfect place for little kids. For women, there isn’t a very big area, but within such a place, there are plenty of activities for children. Especially for kids, what they like the most is the car ride, followed by riding on various animal figures while playing, and there is a swing pool that goes up and down, which is very nice for children. I noticed that they were playing very happily, and their parents were also there.

One thing I really liked is that you don't have to pay any kind of fee to enter here, and yet you can enter since there is no special management arrangement here. It's not a big sin that would require a lot of people and staff; rather, maybe some people from the surrounding area might stay here, but I don't know. However, it seemed to me that the tourists present here manage the place themselves. Very easily, they keep it clean and tidy and enjoy the swings in their own way.

When the locals were there, I asked a person about where the gate of this park was or where the name of this place was, where a nice sign would be placed. They said that during the previous government, under that fascist regime, things were different. When that government fled and lost power, all kinds of things established by their associates or the names that were placed there were broken by the people. And because of this, we cannot see them here. I am sharing some pictures below about children's play activities.

Another thing I would like to present to you is that there are some snacks available here, although nothing particularly unique, rather normally available wherever you go at night. For example, you can find fuchka, chotpoti, roasted peanuts, and chanachur, as well as fried muri and juice, etc. These things are available here. Since these are generally available everywhere, I did not try to review them separately.

Overall, I liked it. I believe it can be a very nice park for children. When you come here with kids, you can leave them, and they can handle everything inside on their own.
