SC-S32/W3-"Today's Writing, Tomorrow's Memories."—The Health Diary

Hello Steemians!

Today, I am super excited to share my post for the contest SC-S32/W3-"Today's Writing, Tomorrow's Memories."—The Health Diary. A huge thanks to the community admins and mods @wirngo and @mahadisalim, for hosting this fun competition. Here is a look at my daily health routine for June 12, 2026.

A peaceful afternoon view of the local muddy paddy fields.

My alarm went off at 4:00 AM while the whole house was still dead silent and it was pitch black outside. Getting up this early is really hard, but I forced myself out of bed, brushed my teeth, and drank a big glass of water, around 300ml, to help me wake up and stop feeling sleepy.

My morning bathroom routine

Instead of jumping straight into a shower, I got ready for a quick bath. If I shower too early in the day it messes up my nose, leaving me with a bad cold for the rest of the week.

To avoid that, I just take a normal bath instead. It keeps me from getting sick and leaves me feeling completely fresh and ready for the day ahead.

Morning Study Session

Right after taking my bath, I sat down at my desk to study. Since it was still early and very quiet, it was the perfect time to get some solid reading done before the rest of the day started.

Breakfast

By 6:00 AM, I was starving. My mom made a really good Sri Lankan rice plate, and I made sure to serve myself a balanced plate instead of just eating too many carbs:

  • Rice: 1 cup of white rice to give me enough energy for the day.
  • Veggies and Protein: A fried egg, a good scoop of dhal curry, some fried sprats (halmasso) for calcium, crispy poppadoms, and a jackfruit seed (kos ata) curry mixed with spinach (nivithi).

It’s a solid meal that fills you up perfectly without making you feel too heavy or lazy.

My breakfast

Going to the dentist

By 8:30 AM, I had to leave the house for a dental checkup. I got to the clinic around 9:15 AM, but the place was packed. I had to sit in the waiting room for about an hour just waiting for my turn.

I didn't take any photos inside out of respect for privacy, but the checkup went smoothly. Keeping up with the dentist is annoying but necessary to stay healthy. I finished up and got back home by 11:00 AM.

Studying in the afternoon

Once I got home, I rested for a bit and ate the rest of the rice for lunch. Right after that, it was back to business. I am currently preparing for my A/L exams, which means my entire afternoon is spent studying with my books.

Sitting in one place for hours is exhausting, but I’m trying to keep my focus and get through it. To stay focused and fresh while reading, I keep a 1 Liter bottle right on my study desk and take small sips every 15 minutes. By the end of the day, I managed to drink around 3 Liters of water, which really helped my brain stay sharp.

Studying for my A/L exams.

Going for a run by the fields

By late afternoon, my brain was totally fried from studying and I really needed to get out of the house. My dad and I decided to go for a run to stretch our legs and get some fresh air. We ran for about 60 minutes straight along the roads right next to the local fields.

Right now, it's that messy, muddy stage before they actually start farming the paddy. Even though it looks a bit muddy, it's really quiet and peaceful out there. Getting away from my desk and running by the fields completely cleared my head. By the time we got back, we were tired, but all the exam stress was gone.

Dinner and snacks

For dinner around 8:30 PM, I had vegetable roti. I made sure to wash my hands thoroughly with soap first to keep things clean.

Right after eating, my brain always craves something sweet because of all the studying. Instead of grabbing processed biscuits or junk food, I went for a much healthier choice and ate some fresh fruits we had at home like fresh mangoes and passion fruit.

Going to sleep

After wrapping up my late night study session, I finally packed up my books and prepared for bed. To make sure my sleep environment was healthy and clean, I turned on the mosquito vaporizing liquid heater. Protecting myself from mosquito bites at night is crucial to avoid diseases like dengue and ensure an uninterrupted night's rest.

Daily Sleep Record

Because of my heavy A/L exam schedule, I have to stay up late studying. Today I only got 5 Hours of sleep (11:00 PM to 4:00 AM). I know 5 hours isn't ideal, but the afternoon runs and drinking tons of water somehow keep my energy up so I don't crash during the day.

Hola !!
Muchas Bendiciones.. 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for the support.

Thank you so much for the support. By the way those fruits are from our garden at home. Home grown goods are really good for the health too.

Great day!!!

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗

Than you so much for the support. Yeah water is vital, even we you are not feeling thirsty we have to drink a good amount per day.

Thank you so much for the support. Have a great day!!!
