The Diary Game: [06/07/2026] | A Day Spent Recovering 🤒
Good day, Steem Fam! Welcome to another episode of my diary. I hope you're all doing well. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself because today was mostly spent battling illness.
I woke up feeling very weak with a fever, a severe headache, and body pains. I could feel every part of my body aching, and I felt weak. I knew immediately that something wasn't right, so instead of trying to rush out of bed, I decided to listen to my body and get some rest.
As the day went on, the fever didn't improve, so my sister accompanied me to a nearby pharmacy. After explaining my symptoms and conducting tests, the pharmacist told me I have malaria. I got some medication to help bring down the fever and ease the body pains. He also advised I use mosquito nets and not rely solely on mosquito sprays because there're adulterated ones in circulation.I was relieved that I didn't ignore how I was feeling because treating it early is always the better option.
I spoke to my staff, giving her the directives about clients orders. I also spoke with my students who were worried why I didn't come to work given that I hardly miss work. I told them the predicament and they sympathised with me. I also gave them instructions on what to do since I didn’t want them idle.
Back at home, I didn't have the strength to do any chores or work. I spent most of the day resting and trying to regain my strength. My sister was incredibly caring and made sure I was comfortable. She also prepared some warm pap for me since I wasn't in the mood for a heavy meal.
Although I still felt weak by evening, I noticed a slight improvement after taking my medication and getting enough rest. I'm grateful to God for His protection and for having someone by my side to care for me. Days like this remind me never to take good health for granted because being healthy is truly a blessing.
I joined devotion with my family in the evening via WhatsApp call and when I mentioned my ill health, I was encouraged with a Bible verse from Jeremiah 30:17 (NIV): "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the Lord. This verse gave me hope and reminded me that God is able to restore strength and bring healing, even when we feel our weakest.
Thank you for stopping by to read my diary. I hope by tomorrow my health will be better and my strength back. I wish you all a beautiful and healthy week ahead. See you in my next diary.
