Dinajpur Railway Station is one of the most popular and important railway stations in the northern region of Bangladesh. Since Dinajpur is a district town, people here prefer to travel by train more than any other transport. Many important institutions like schools, colleges, hospitals, and offices are located in this town, and because it’s a busy city, the railway service plays a vital role in daily travel.

This station is called Dinajpur Railway Station. It was established long ago to make transportation easier for the people. The station is located in Dinajpur Sadar Upazila of Rangpur Division. You can come here easily from any part of Dinajpur by auto-rickshaw. Almost every auto goes directly to the station, so traveling here is very simple.

According to online sources, Dinajpur Railway Station was established in 1884. To improve rail connectivity, multiple intercity, express, mail, and commuter trains travel through this station. For passenger comfort, there are ticket counters, waiting rooms, food stalls, restrooms, and more.
Communication between stations is maintained through the Bangladesh Railway office. Since train movements require official permission, they coordinate through government telephone systems.

Bangladesh Railway now works as a full service-oriented system. Both passengers and goods are transported through the trains. Many people travel long and short distances daily, and various types of goods are also booked through the railway parcel service. Dinajpur Railway Station operates many passenger trains both intercity and localand also runs freight trains to transport goods. All railway stations in Bangladesh remain open 24 hours, and employees work in two or three shifts to keep everything running smoothly.

131 is the official hotline number of Bangladesh Railway. Anyone can call this number to get updated information about trains and their locations. It was launched recently to provide quick service to passengers who often face difficulty tracking train timings or locations.

Every station has a parcel office where goods are booked and transported from one station to another. The parcel office handles the responsibility of loading and unloading goods properly. People who transport goods regularly through trains must communicate with the parcel office.

Bangladesh Railway offers many upgraded facilities nowadays. Every train has multiple seating options like Shovan Chair, AC Chair, AC Sleeper, etc. Modern toilets are also available. The overall service quality has improved a lot, making railway travel more comfortable and popular than bus services.


*CCTV Camera*

For security, a large number of CCTV cameras are installed across the station. Bangladesh Railway also has its own security forcesRNB and Railway Police who ensure safety inside the station and inside the train.

There are plenty of seats for passengers, fans for summer, and proper lighting systems. All these are maintained for passenger comfort.

Yes, of course. Every station has restrooms and modern toilets. There are separate waiting rooms one for general passengers (Shovan Chair) and another for AC or VIP passengers. Each waiting room has attached washrooms for convenience.

How is the work exchange here? How much is the transport ticket price for how many kilometers?

All railway employees join through government recruitment processes and receive a fixed monthly salary according to government pay scales.
Train fares are calculated based on station-to-station distance, not directly by kilometers. Below are the fare lists:

Railway service in Bangladesh has improved a lot. New engines, coaches, and luggage vans are being imported from developed countries. Passenger numbers have increased tremendously. Stations have food shops, fast-food corners, convenience stores, and online ticketing systems. Security is very strong with CCTV surveillance and railway police. Inside the trains, security personnel ensure safe travel. Overall, Bangladesh Railway is becoming more modern and reliable every year.
