Jamuna Bridge is built over the Jamuna River flowing in Bangladesh. Jamuna Bridge is one of the largest bridges in Bangladesh. It ranks second in Bangladesh as a bridge. The length of Jamuna Bridge is 3.8 kilometers. This long bridge was built in 1997. So far, this bridge has connected North Bengal and South Bengal in Bangladesh.

Jamuna Bridge has 50 pillars and 49 spans. This bridge has been designed with an attractive design. Vehicles passing over this bridge are operated by Tangail and Sirajganj Road. A specified toll amount has to be paid for each vehicle to cross this bridge. A toll of up to 100 taka is payable here for crossing a motorcycle. Additionally, freight vehicles have to pay a higher toll when crossing. The main reason for raising the toll is to pay off the debt necessary to build the bridge.

This bridge has been built in a very sustainable way. It is expected to last for an estimated century. There is also a railway line on one side of this Jamuna Bridge. The railway system on one side of the Jamuna Bridge is truly more impressive. Especially due to the presence of a railway line on one side of the bridge, rail communication with Tangail, Sirajganj, Dhaka, Rajshahi, Gazipur, Natore, etc. districts is intact. Above all, this rail line is more effective with the Jamuna Bridge.

There is adequate electricity on this bridge. Each pillar is equipped with advanced technology lights and also has CCTV cameras. The entire bridge is monitored by CCTV cameras. There is also a specific administration for the bridge. The administration is always committed to the safety of the bridge. Specific administrations control the current situation of the bridges to control them. A 440-volt line has been laid over this bridge from Tangail to Sirajganj. This line operates about 170 other lights on the bridge.

I reviewed this bridge from below. There is no permission to climb onto the bridge's floor, because the bridge is only open to vehicles, but there are no provisions for pedestrians. This procedure is in place to deal with accidents. Anyway, it's better to enjoy its beauty from under the bridge. Because you can enjoy the bridge pillars and the river water. It is very difficult to estimate the length of this huge bridge from below. Because standing on one side of the bridge, you can't see the other side. Below are some photographs.

Each pillar of the bridge has been built very strongly. A lot of expensive expenses have been incurred in the construction of each pillar. At that time, a lot of money had to be spent on building this bridge. In the aforementioned pictures, we can enjoy the structures of the bridge. Sufficient funds were needed to build the bridge's infrastructure and maintain it. It is estimated that up to ten thousand dollars were spent on the construction of one pillar. Overall, a strong, durable bridge has been built.

Very strong structures have been used above and below the bridge. These pillars are constructed from a mixture of concrete and casting. Building the pillars in the midst of the water current was not easy. In fact, many risks had to be taken in its construction. Constructing each pillar over moving water was a challenge, which resulted in costs exceeding the planned estimate. And that's normal. Anyway, I enjoyed the views of the bridge and captured them in photographs.

This is the first large multi-purpose bridge built in the history of Bangladesh. Although there are many other bridges in Bangladesh, this was the largest bridge of that time. Currently, the Jamuna Bridge stands as the second largest bridge in Bangladesh. Some more information about the Jamuna Bridge is mentioned below.
