SLC-S29/W1-Mind & Learn : The Psychology Journey "Control Your Emotions"
Journaling, write your emotions and negative thoughts in a diary, express your thoughts.
- Title:
A Comment That Stayed With Me
- Story:
Last Monday when we were at our lab during my colleague Ali made a comment that hurt me a lot. We were talking about a project and he said to me that "Honestly, you are too sensitive. You wouldn’t survive real pressure of the project.”
Everyone laughed a little but. I also smiled but inside I felt embarrassed and weak. Ali moved on like it was nothing happened but I could not. Even after coming home his words kept playing in my head sharply. While making tea, while lying in the bed, even the next morning those words were still there in my mind.
- Thoughts:
I felt very much angry. I imagined saying something back to him the next day so he could feel the same paim that i felt. I also thought about confronting him and telling him how hurt I was. But then I doubted myself from inside.
What if I am actually too sensitive?
What if speaking up makes things more awkward among the colleagues?
At the same time I was staying quiet felt like I was accepting the insult. As a judge looking at the situation I noticed that my emotions were loud and demanding a sharp reaction. But reacting immediately might only create more problems for me.. so it was a totally mixed feeling.
- Lesson:
This incident teaches me that not every hurt needs an instant response. My emotions were justified but they did not need to control my actions. Taking time helped me see more clearly. Later on, when I felt calmer and relaxed I could choose whether to talk to Ali respectfully or simply let it go for my own peace.
So, Pausing is not weakness ; it is giving myself space to choose wisely.
Mind setup, take a favorite book, continue reading on a topic and write in detail about that topic after finishing the reading. Let us know what book you are reading and take a picture.
- Book I am reading:
Cosmos by Carl Sagan (کائنات, translated into Urdu language)
- About the Topic:
While reading Cosmos book the author of the book Carl Sagan repeatedly brings the reader back to one central idea that 'the universe is vast beyond imaginations and yet we are a part of it'. This thought feels both comforting and restlessness in the human mind.
Cosmos is a very thoughtful and inspiring book that explains the universe in a simple yet very deep way. Carl Sagan shows how small we are in the vast cosmos but how special is our ability to think and understand the things.
The book makes you feel very humble and calm and it helps to put daily worries into perspective. It is not just about space and science but also it is about the humanity, curiosity, and awareness. Thus book gives a meaningful read that quietly changes how you look at your life.
Read the story mentioned above and express your own opinion.
According to my thoughts this story shows that war and famine do not destroy a society alone. But the human greed and selfishness makes the situation even worst. While ordinary people suffered a lot, the leaders like Kibria Ahmed stood for unity and fairness to help everyone survive together. The resistance of Kibria Ahmed represents hope, moral courage, and the power of collective action in the darkest times.
On the other hand the Harun Chowdhury betrayal reveals that how greed separates a person from humanity. By using hunger for personal gain, he lost the trust of society and everyone.
But when tragedy struck his own family, his wealth became useless. So this story teaches that compassion and justice are essential for survival and those people and leaders who ignore them eventually face painful consequences at the end.
Create an infographic on the five steps of emotion control.
Now I would like to invite my friends @sadaf02 , @m-princess and @ahsansharif to participate in this contest.
Thank you so much.

This writing is truly heartwarming. It reminds us that it is not necessary to respond immediately to every pain or insult in life. But it is more important to understand and control our emotions. Responding patiently and thoughtfully not only gives us inner peace. It also improves relationships. It makes a best version of our own self. At the same time the mention of the book of the universe teaches us that we are small in the universe but have the power to think and understand. It gives meaning to every moment of our lives.
I wish you success in this challenge. Good luck🤞.
