Today's Writing, Tomorrow's Memories: The Work Diary
I think that every day of life creates some kind of story. Today, like other days of the week, my day started with a morning wrapped in the intense traffic jams and busyness of the ever-familiar Dhaka. When I go out on the streets in the morning, I see thousands of busy people rushing to their respective destinations. Looking at this huge stream of people, I understand that everyone has an invisible burden on their backs. How intense the fight for survival is.
A middle-class father's sigh hidden behind his busy schedule

Since I am professionally involved in logistics and courier management, both the pace of work and mental stress are a little different. The challenge of ensuring that customer parcels reach the right destination at the right time is not just a job but a kind of great responsibility. However, I am capturing how today went, what challenges I faced, and what I learned at the end of the day - all this in the form of a post on the pages of this diary for future memories.
I wake up in the morning and spend some time with my family. However, I have been feeling depressed lately because even though July has arrived, the salary for May has not been cleared yet. When my wife was serving me breakfast, I felt a kind of guilt when I looked into her eyes. Anyway, I hid all my troubles and went to the office with a smile on my face after seeing my daughter and wife. Currently, I am working at a startup courier company called Bili Courier. Being a start-up, the daily work pressure is a bit high here. After reaching the office, I sit down with a cup of hot tea at the table, which removes the mental fatigue of the whole day to some extent and provides energy.

Then I sit at the desk and open our own ERP panel. Today, we have to check a perfect database of which area riders will be out for pickup and delivery on which routes. We have to speed up the work by looking at the data of thousands of shuttles pending and sorting the pending parcels accumulated on the dashboard. Putting aside our own financial needs and balancing this calculation to ensure that other people's parcels arrive on time is truly a strange life struggle.

|---|
The most important part of the logistics line is the field workers or riders. At around 10:45 in the morning, we assign work routes to our field riders and team members according to their priorities. It is clearly written on the board which big brands (like Aarong, Walton, etc.) are the target pickups for today.

I was giving strict instructions to the field staff to ensure that the delivery of the special corporate parcels scheduled for today was not missed. I was coordinating directly with the riders over the phone and on our internal tracking portal. Seeing their hard work made me forget my own hardships—we are all in the same boat.
This little time in the middle of the day's hustle and bustle gives me some relief. After finishing lunch, I call my wife at home. I try to lighten my mind by asking if my daughter has eaten properly today and checking up on her. The girl insisted on the phone that she needed a small thing. When I hung up the phone saying, I'll give it to you, Maa, when I get my salary next week, my heart was breaking. If I had received my May salary, I could have fulfilled my daughter's wish today. Just as it is a relief to check up on my family a little, even in the midst of my busy schedule, the inability to put a smile on their faces during this difficult time is a big sigh for me.

The afternoon was the most challenging part of the day. Courier delivery updates were coming in from several areas. Sticky pads of urgent notes (like ACI, running client list) all around the monitor were a constant reminder of the pressure of work. The pile of files piled up next to it doubled the afternoon's workload. I had to hide my inner storm and keep a professional seriousness on my face while working.

Then the work of preparing the closing report for the day began. Looking at the memory board and awards in recognition of our previous work in the office, my chest filled with pride. The memories of all the great achievements of the Bili Operations team are framed, yet as a member of that team, I have to spend two months without pay.

My learnings and experiences from today's work
Realization and middle-class sigh: |
|---|
During my daily work pressure, deadlines, and hasty client handling, a harsh truth and intense mental pain kept recurring in my head. The overall job situation in our country is very bad, and private jobs mean a kind of slavery. May is over, and I am standing on the threshold of July, but I have not received my May salary yet. In the midst of this severe financial crisis, when I am sitting at my desk and handling the logistics of others, a kind of anger arises within me. Sometimes I feel like I have made the biggest mistake in my life by studying so much. Today, perhaps because I have studied so much, I cannot do any work or business in a hurry even if I want to due to fear of public shame, and I cannot get out of this life of slavery. The biggest pain is when, in this stressful world, I cannot fulfill the small dreams of my cute daughter properly due to financial problems. What can be a bigger failure for a father than this?

Problem and Solution: |
|---|
This afternoon, I was faced with a major zone rider's bike breaking down, causing the pickups in that area to be stuck. I immediately put aside all my frustrations and, for the sake of professionalism, assigned the backup rider from the next zone to take charge of the emergency pickups on that route. I learned from this that in the logistics business, no matter what your mental state is, the last thing to do is to serve the client. And that's why you always have to have a Plan-B or alternative arrangement ready.

A brief assessment of my day-to-day and plans for tomorrow
Today's Achievement: |
|---|
I think, no matter how miserable the job and the current situation in the country may seem, at the end of the day, I tried to fulfill my responsibility honestly. Even after the midday rider crisis, we were able to process 95% of the parcels of the day on time. This is the merit of our operations team.

|---|
Tomorrow's action plan: |
|---|
I will check the current status of today's pending 5% parcels tomorrow morning and ensure delivery as first priority.
I have a plan to talk to the management about salary updates, because my back is against the wall—if it continues like this, it will become a burden to run the family. Although I am already taking loans from people.

This is how my ordinary but deeply tiring and emotional day ended. Now, after work, I am free from the bondage of this rule and looking forward to the time I will spend with my daughter and wife when I return home. Even in the midst of a lot of hardship, when I see their faces, I forget all my tiredness and get the strength to live anew. However, what I have written today may become a real memory of my working life in the future.

From the beginning of your day to the end of your work, you can be seen as very nice and diligent. A father understands what reality is.
Being a little responsible, as much as facing the reality, it seems like I don't know what to do if I become a father. Anyway you wrote very well I like your writing and presented problem and solution very well

Reading your diary, I felt that it was not just a record of a working day. But the voice of a hardworking father's heart. The busyness of the office the responsibility of thousands of parcels. The pressure of deadlines and the worries of the family along with all this. All this is reflected very beautifully in your writing. The moment when you mentioned your daughter's small wish was especially touching. The love and concern that a father has for his children's happiness was clearly felt in your words.
I also found it very impressive that despite personal worries and financial difficulties. You fulfilled your professional responsibilities with complete honesty.
