Explore On The Maps: Explore Educational Zone
We all know that education is the backbone of a nation, and primary school is the first foundation stone for building that backbone. I will share with you my experience of visiting a well-known educational institution in my area that is spreading the light of education to underprivileged children.
Location, Brief History & Establishment
The educational institution I am discussing today is a primary school, whose name is Anand Niketan Primary School. It is located within the Kalshi area of Mirpur No. 11, Dhaka district, Bangladesh. I learned from the signboard at the entrance of this school that it was established in 1994. The institution is a unique educational initiative run by the Gonoshahajjo Sangstha (GSS). This social organization established the school in the 1990s with the aim of ensuring quality primary education for the children of working-class and lower-class families in the region. For more than three decades, it has been playing a significant role in bringing local dropouts and disadvantaged children back into the mainstream of education.

The specific reason behind choosing this school is that it is very close to my current area and very convenient for commuting, and it was the most suitable option for me as Eid-ul-Azha holidays are currently underway across the country. Moreover, this institution has been spreading the light of primary education to children from underprivileged and ordinary families in this area for three decades.
Environment & Facilities of the Institution
When I reached the school premises, I was struck by its simple yet orderly environment. It is not a luxurious modern school, but it has a strangely lively atmosphere.

Classrooms: The school has a limited number of classrooms. Each room had simple benches for students to sit on and a blackboard for teachers.
Security and Infrastructure: The school has an iron gate at the main entrance. However, some parts of the building are quite old and dilapidated. I saw some renovation work or construction materials being kept on one side, which indicates that an effort is being made to keep the infrastructure functional within the limited means.
Electricity and Water: There is a basic electricity connection, but considering the hardships of the students in the intense heat, I felt the need for a better fan or alternative power supply (IPS) system.
Environmental Condition of the Educational Zone
Since Bauniabad is a densely populated residential area, the environment around the school is a bit noisy. However, efforts are made to keep the school premises itself quite clean. The surroundings are filled with the noise of small children. The children enjoy their tiffin time and play various games in the small playground of the school.

My Exploring Experience
Personally, visiting this school was a wonderful, emotional and inspiring experience for me. As I stood in front of the main gate and looked at the signboard, a deep respect was working in my mind that for the last three decades, this institution has been silently spreading the light of education in this neglected area.

It was a great achievement for me to visit that school for the sake of this competition. When I went there and was taking pictures and inquiring about the school, the people of the school thought of me as a big writer or content creator. They were telling me with great humility and hope that the hand of propaganda is very powerful in this era. They expressed their desire to convey the demand of making this beloved institution government to the higher authorities through my writing or propaganda.

That simple faith and hope in their eyes not only inspired my writing personality greatly, but also gave me a strange feeling of love. I went there just to participate in the competition, and I came back with a huge responsibility and a great story of memories! The glitz of big, famous schools may not be here, but the sincerity of the people here and the simplicity in the eyes of the children will make my visit experience memorable for a lifetime.

Suggestions for Improvement
In light of my practical experience, the following steps can be taken to make the learning environment of the young students of this school more enjoyable:
Touch of digital education: In line with the current era, at least one multimedia classroom should be arranged for these underprivileged children, so that they can learn easily through visual content.
Infrastructural renovation: It is necessary to complete renovation work quickly to remove the dilapidated condition of the old walls and gates of the school, so that the children can study in a safe and beautiful environment.
Pure drinking water filter: I think it is very important to install a modern and large-scale pure water filter in the school to protect the health of the students.
Entertainment arrangements: If some indoor games (such as carrom, ludo or chess) can be arranged within the limited space, the mental development of the children will be faster.

This initiative to identify the educational institutions around us with the help of a map is very timely. Institutions like Ananda Niketan Primary School are the silent lights of our society. I personally believe from the bottom of my heart that change does not always require a huge budget, it requires a little goodwill. With government grants, cooperation from wealthy people in the area, or the joint efforts of voluntary organizations, this name Ananda Niketan Primary School can really be worthwhile. Perhaps our little help will open up a new horizon of possibilities for these innocent and underprivileged children of Ananda Niketan. I have tried to give a clear idea about this school through my participation.
