SEC-S30W2: Leyendas de mi pais: ( Mysterious roadside ponds and ghost stories heard)
Hello..!!
My Dear Friends,
I am @tanvirahammad10 from #Bangladesh 🇧🇩
There are countless stories and folk tales surrounding the roadsides, canals, and ponds of rural Bangladesh. Just like that, the story of a mysterious pond is intertwined with my childhood memories. That pond located on the side of the road still evokes various unknown feelings in my mind.
My father led the prayer in a mosque in this area for a long time. On that basis, I would also occasionally come to my father's place and stay here for a few days. There was an old road next to the mosque, and right next to that road was a medium-sized pond. There were some old trees around the pond, especially large banyan and karai trees, which provided shade during the day and made the environment a bit mysterious at night.
The villagers often heard various strange stories surrounding this pond. Especially at night, many people said that ghosts came to this pond and ate the fish in the pond. Some claimed that strange sounds could be heard in the pond late at night; As if someone was fishing in the water or the water was moving with a splash. Some would say that something like a white shadow was seen on the edge of the pond in the middle of the night.
But the strange thing is that although many people have heard these stories, no one has ever seen the so-called ghost clearly. So whether these stories are true or just people's imagination. There were also different opinions among the villagers about it. When I was a child, hearing these stories also scared me a lot. Especially when I had to return from the mosque at night, my chest would pound as I passed by the pond. I felt like if something really existed! But my father always said that these are stories made up by people, there is nothing to be afraid of unnecessarily.
Recently, while passing by that path again, those old stories suddenly came to my mind. I stood by the road and looked at the pond for a while. There was silence all around, only the sound of leaves rustling in the light wind. It seems that times have changed a lot, but this pond and its stories still seem to be the same. This pond may not actually hide any secrets, but because of people's memories, imaginations and the folklore of rural Bengal, it still creates a kind of mysterious atmosphere. And for me, this pond is not just a water body. It is a unique symbol of childhood memories, fear and curiosity.
Whenever I pass that road, I remember those old sayings, "Or maybe ghosts come here at night and eat fish!" Whether true or false, these stories have become a special part of our rural life.

It's a pleasure to see that you've accepted my challenge, welcome! Here is your evaluation:
In reality, many of these old legends have faded with the passing of time, perhaps due to the advance of technology, perhaps because of people's disbelief.
