PRODUCT REVIEW: The 5- volt Soldering Iron

Sometimes, thing you never thought existed actually exist.

So there was on time we were facing challenges in the aspect of electricity supply for us to carry out a little task at my work place with my friends.
Due to insufficient power supply by electricity companies in our region, it has always been hard to complete a task at normal duration.

So we were just deliberating on things that could be easy to use and does not really consume electricity.
Someone came up with the idea of a 5-volt soldering iron that's also rechargeable.
We thought it never existed, so we waved that thought.

Fast forward to today. We have the 5-volt soldering iron. Not rechargeable. But it can operate on a 5-volt supply power-bank, which we normally use in charging our phones and powering ring- lights.

It happened that while I was scrolling through Facebook , I saw it. And it was available on Temu. And you know Temu things, how untrue they can be.
So we checked Jumia , but it was not there.
After few months, we check again and we found it.
It cost about 12 thousand naira. That's about 160 steems.

We contributed to order for it. And when it arrived, everyone wanted to use it.😂
You can also use it with a phone charger.

FEATURES

•POWER PORT
The soldering iron has a power connection port at the bottom which when connected, an indicator lights up..

•POWER BUTTON
The soldering iron has a power button which is also a three gear button that allows for heat regulation in the soldering iron.

First gear:

Pressing the button three times in the space of two seconds turns on a green light around the button.
This is the first gear which allows for a temperature ranging for 300°C to 350 °C

Second gear:

While still in gear one, pressing the button once changes it to the second gear which indicates by changing the green light to a blue on.
Temperature here ranges from 370 °C to 400 °C

Third gear:

This is the last and hottest it can be. Only one press changes it from the second to this gear which lights up a red light as an indicator.
Temperature here ranges from 430 °C to 450 °C.

Copper-alloy heat transfer head
This is allows for rapid heat transfer from the element inside of the iron core to the bit.

The bit
The useful part of the iron, which melts the lead used in soldering.
Its dimeter is about 2.5mm with a tip of 0.3mm... Very effective in carrying out serious and adequate leading, especially with Spider ICs.

An iron stand was added in the carton.
Other things like an extra free lead.

The iron automatically sleeps after 10 minutes of inactivity.
And cools down after 30 seconds.
