Title: An Untrustworthy Friends

As a student, I have those whom I called my closest friends, with whom I felt safe until I realised that I am not safe being with them. I met Juliana and Aminah on campus during my first year and they took me as their own. They gave me a shelter when I had none, accommodated me in their apartment for some months, which I thought they had good plans for me.

As good as I thought they were, I shared all my secrets with them. I shared my problem and happiness with them, not knowingthey hade interior motives for me. I told them my story, but at the end of the day, my secret story became an open story, which everyone became aware of. It didn't just end there. I trusted them and thought they were legit people, not knowing that there were pretenders.

The problem that I had with Aminah was that she talks too much, whereas my problem with Juliana was that she is into prostitution, and it is something that I hate. Juliana would always want me to follow her way of life, but I always ignored her, until she accused me of stealing her money and clothes, which were all lies, simply because I didn't agree to follow her lifestyle.

Thoughts:
I thought of leaving them as I discovered who they truly are, but I didn't, hoping that I would influence them. Many things were coming to my mind, which at some point I thought of joining Juliana in her lifestyle, but I thought of the noble home I came from, what people would say, especially someone like Aminah who talks anyhow. I thought of reporting them, but I still don't. I flash back to how they helped me.

Lesson:
The lesson that I learned was that I shouldn't be too quick to judge someone as people do things because of their life situations. Also, I learned that when one does good in life, he or she will be loved and respected, and by the time the person does something wrong, his or her good deed will speak for him or her. I also learned the lesson of talking less because too much talking is what put Aminah in a big problem.

Mind setup, take a favorite book, continue reading on a topic, and write in detail about that topic after finishing the reading. Let us know what book you are reading and take a picture.

I read the book titled: "The fruit of disobedience" and the topic that I read is "Abuse of Power and the Consequences of Injustice".

The topic focuses on the abuse of power and the consequences of injustice and corruption. The topic shows how people who are in authority manipulate the justice system for personal gain, as seen in Chief Ogbunike’s attempt to bribe officials, believing his influence can override the law for his benefit.

In contrast, Obi Okoye represents integrity and moral strength, choosing to uphold his values despite suffering.

Also, the character of Commando highlights the irony of power, as someone who once commanded others later becomes a victim of a higher authority. His humiliation and punishment emphasize that power is temporary and can easily change hands. In conclusion, the topic teaches that corruption and misuse of authority may succeed for a time, but justice and consequences are unavoidable in the end.

Read the story mentioned above and express your own opinion.

The story that I read describes a country that is destroyed by civil war and famine, where ordinary people suffer while the powerful strive for control. An ordinary man, Kibria Ahmed, leads a protest movement and forms a resistance to the distribution of food and clothing. Although a lot of people agree to help, a greedy businessman, Harun Chowdhury, betrays the agreement by selling essentials at high prices and taking people's land when they cannot pay back.

Children begin to die as famine worsens and a deadly plague spreads. When Harun's only son becomes affected, Harun offers all his wealth to save his son, but the doctors refuse, and his only son dies. The story highlights the consequences of greed, showing that exploiting others ultimately leads to personal loss and regret.

Five steps of emotion control.

Canva

  • Step 1: 👁️ Recognize the Emotion
I take notice of my feelings (anger, fear, sadness, and stress) and name them honestly.

  • Step 2: 🌬️ Pause and Breathe
I do make sure that I stop reacting immediately to give myself peace of mind.

  • Step 3: 🔍 Identify the Cause
In a situation, my thoughts or those of a person, I separate facts from assumptions.

  • Step 4: 🎯 Choose a Healthy Response
I do decide on how to respond instead of reacting.

  • Step 5: 📘 Reflect and Learn
I do think about how to handle my emotions by learning from my past experience.
