Fresh from My Garden - Harvesting Ripe Tomatoes at Home

Assalamu Alaikum, I hope everyone is well and enjoying their lives. Today I went to the tomato plants that were sold at my house. I saw that some of the plants were still small and some were big. The big plants had a lot of tomatoes on them. I have previously presented a post where the tomatoes were still small and had raw hands.

Today, when I went to my tomato plant, I saw that some of the tomatoes were completely ripe and their color had also changed. Because when tomatoes are ripe, they turn red. Here, I saw a bunch that had turned completely red, and I wanted to pick it.

All the tomatoes on the tomato plant are at a different stage. Some ripen very quickly, some ripen a little later. So as they turn red, we pick them so that they don't get spoiled when they are still on top. If we think that we have to pick them all at once, then they will get spoiled. The one that ripens first and turns red will get spoiled quickly, so it won't be of any use to us. We want to take full advantage of it, so we pick it up early.

Out of all the tomatoes that were growing on these plants, only one bunch had turned red and was completely ripe. So I grabbed the bunch and picked them off one by one. They are in excellent condition now. They are neither too ripe nor too raw. We can use them for any purpose. Whether you want to add them to a curry or make a salad, we can use them in both ways because they are very fresh and they will not spoil so quickly. Now we can freeze them in the freezer.

Now, just as I have picked this one bunch, it was completely ripe, so now more tomatoes are growing after it. There is only one tomato growing; it is growing separately. It is neither fully ripe nor fully unripe yet. So I have left that one too. I will pick it after another day. By then, it will be ripe. There is no point in picking it now because it is slightly unripe. If we leave it on the same plant for another day, it will grow in perfect condition. Then we will take it off.

There are even more tomatoes growing in clusters because this is not a plant; it is a vine that grows taller, and all the tomatoes it bears are in clusters. A plant that bears individual tomatoes. This is a big difference between the two. There are also some clusters in these clusters that are still completely unripe and green.

They are cared for on a daily basis, watered, and protected from the sun, and in another two to three days, all these remaining tomatoes will be ripe. Then we will harvest them too. In this way, we can get tomatoes as a fresh salad at home.

My main effort is to grow as many things as possible that are grown at home, so that we can get more fresh things because we don't get fresh things from the market. If anything comes to the market, it is picked two days ago. Then it goes to the market, and from the market it goes to the shops, and then we buy it from the shop. This way, it is quite old. The advantage of something grown at home is that we know that we have just picked it fresh.
