My Diary Game: SUNDAY SERVICE, AKWA SYNOD CAROL AND SHOPPING WITH MY WIFE - 7/12/2025
Carol of 9 Lessons |

I greet you all, as we continue to push till the end of 2025 in peace.
My Sunday was quite spiritual and engaging. It was our Adoration Sunday Service with Holy Communion, and later in the evening I went for Akwa Synod carol of nine (9) lessons, and on returning home my wife told me about urgent needs of the family which we went together on her request.

MORNING RECORDS
This Sunday was not different from others in which we had to wake up very early and get things done before going to church. There was no water but my wife made an arrangement, one of our members got us rubbers of water using keke.
Before 8am I was in church, of course I left my wife in the house just to beat time due to my position and the things I needed to put in place for our guests in the church. Everything went well as the service started at 9am.
We had two guest music ministers. Anisax changed the atmosphere with his saxophone. It was sparkling and energetic. Those who forgot their dancing shoes might have missed the praise session. We celebrated the first Sunday service powerfully even as the next gospel singer, Mrs. Usukuma took over from the saxophonist, the atmosphere was in the same momentum. Other items in the order of service were carefully followed and the service ended with Holy Communion, being the first Sunday of the month.

AFTERNOON RECORD
After the service we went to visit one of our members who was sick and couldn't come to service. We prayed with him and administered Communion to him. There was no picture as my phone was down as at the time we went. On getting to the house there was power supply and my phone charged. At about 1:45pm, I went down the street, and by the time I returned home, the blender I ordered some days ago was brought and my wife received it. She was happy that I got her the blender to ease her kitchen duties.

EVENING ENGAGEMENTS
I rested as sleep took me and I woke up around 4:15pm and quickly looked for something to wear and moved to The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Four Towns Parish for Akwa Synod Carol for 9 lessons. I spent about 45 minutes on the road before getting there, not because of the long distance but the delays of waiting for means of transportation and pick and drop of the tricycle summed up to the minutes I spent.

The event was well organized as various choral groups made presentations of their carol piece and the lessons were read connecting to the birth of Jesus Christ. A greater percentage of Christians celebrate Christmas while few do not. The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria as part of a Reformed tradition do not reject the celebration of Christmas. We may not know the date of His birth but He was born and we have to.
Two (2) peole got my sight amongst those who presented songs during the carol. A 8 year old violinist made a performance that everyone is talking about. It was training, dedication and mastering we saw. Another was an old woman of over 90 years still singing with the Four Towns Parish choir. They made my time there good apart from the spiritual impacts of the event.

We close the programme at 6:56pm while reaching the house at 7:29pm. We went to a nearby supermarket to shop for a few items that were urgent. Getting back I was tired and I went straight to bed after having bread and mineral for my dinner. It was a wonderful day, engaging, stressful, but very profound.
