The Diary Game || REPORTING THE 2026 UYO PRESBYTERY CEREMONIAL OPENING, LUNCHING EDUCATIONAL ENDOWMENT FUND AND AN AWARD SERVICE || 14/03/2026

My name is Ubong Ekpenyong, popularly known as @freshgrace on Steemit. I find it interesting to share or report the grand finale of the Uyo Presbytery Gospel Convention that commenced on Thursday. Like I reported the evening revival of this event days ago, I wish to also share how it ended.

The entire Presbytery gathered for the ceremonial opening, marking the new year for the Presbytery. It was a formal service altogether with a keynote presentation on the 2026 General Assembly theme of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria “Grace Upon Grace” drawn from the gospel of John 1:16 “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.”

The Keynote Presenter

The keynote address presenter did justice to the theme. He simplified it to what all could understand using various biblical allusions, driving from the known to the unknown. Apart from grace being the unmerited favor, grace is also kindness, goodness, forgiveness, and mercy.

After the keynote address, the formalities were followed for an event as such. The Chairman of the occasion made a huge donation towards the Uyo Presbytery Education fund, being the core reason of fundraising of the day. The plan is to reach out and give support to indigenous indigent students who are in school but could not afford their fees and those who wish to go to school but may not be able to afford it.

In the ceremonial opening, guests were invited, and many that have served the Presbytery in various capacities were singled out for an award in the presence of the congregants. Everyone was excited to contribute toward the education endowment fund.

List if such students have been sent to the Presbytery for disbursement starting from this semester. The other time, the Presbytery empowered widows and also bought sewing machines, hairdressing equipment for about five (5) young girls chosen from different parishes that make up the Presbytery.

I sincerely appreciate the leadership of Uyo Presbytery for this thoughtful response to the needs of her members. This is one of the mission works the old missionaries came with. Capacity building and human empowerment. I am very convinced that the beneficiaries will be grateful too.
