The Diary Game: [06/07/2026] A Step By Step Guide To Pattern Drafting And Alterations.

Good evening, guys. How have y'all been doing lately? I hope great. I welcome y'all to yet another diary session with yours truly @gbemi-sola, let's get right into it guys. My morning started of late because of the rain, I had said to myself if it didn't stop, I won't go to shop. It later subsided, then I had my morning routine, while at it, I boiled rice and beans. As it was on the gas, I was busy getting myself ready at the same time checking the food, after I was through, I dished my food, packed it in my bag, and I left the house few minutes later.

On getting to the main road, I branched at my vendor's shop to buy pattern paper because I don't have any at the shop. I decided to buy this white color for a change, I have always been buying the brown paper. I waited for a while before I got a bike that took me to shop.

I arrived at the shop, and I did my usual shop cleaning, from sweeping, to dusting, and arranging the outer and inner of the shop as it should be. I had to rest for a some minutes to regain my strength and while at it, I snacked on my favourite biscuit. Then it was time to face the task for the day, today was all about pattern drafting of different styles. There was a trouser pattern I drafted and I went ahead to cut out the front and back piece of it.

With that completed, I went ahead to draft another pattern. This time, it's an half length bodice pattern. There was the front and back piece, I didn't cut it out on the fabric because I needed to finish drafting today.

The time there was past 1pm, I had to pack the pattern aside and eat. My friend, the boutique man bought me that drink this morning because his wife celebrated 50years on saturday, it was a just a small parlour party according to what he told me.

The next pattern drafting was a corset, overbust corest to be precise. The drafting was not easy, now I understand why fashion designers charge high when it comes to corest. I was practically drained after I finished it. And for the white pattern paper, I won't be purchasing another one after I finish this. The quality isn't as the brown paper at all.

Later in the evening, my customer came in and brought some outfits for adjustment. I told her it's tomorrow she'd collect them and she agreed. I did some before closing hour came. I packed the clothes aside, same with the patterns, and packed in everything from outside, I couldn't sweep the floor I just had to pickup the rough papers and trashed them as I locked the shop and went home. I arrived home and said my greetings to my family, I got home a little bit late than usual. I had my shower, went to the kitchen to dish my food which was swallow and vegetable soup. After I had empited my plate, I went to the kitchen to wash my plate and the cooler I took to the shop, and I retired back to my room. Today has been a very long day, once I'm through with this, I'd call it a night.
