National Martyrs’ Memorial, Savar, Dhaka ⏺️
Steemian Friends,
Not too far from Kalampur, this National Martyrs’ Memorial! This National Martyrs’ Memorial stands tall in Savar very peacefully. The design of this National Martyrs’ Memorial was mainly determined through a competition.
Many people had drawn designs for the construction of this National Martyrs’ Memorial, among them this design achieved first place. The name of the person who created this design is Syed Mainul Hossain.
So today let us learn in detail about this National Martyrs’ Memorial and I will try to present the moments of my journey and various places through photos and videos.

National Martyrs’ Memorial
From Savar you have to come to Nabinagar. Right at the middle point of Nabinagar you will see the tall pillar of the National Martyrs’ Memorial. I directly came from Kalampur to Nabinagar by bus. Here, entry is open for the public from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Since I left the office at 5 PM, if I can come to this place with a good bus from my office without traffic, it is possible to arrive within 30 minutes. I came within 30 minutes by Nilachal bus as there was no traffic jam.
At the entrance, you will first see this National Martyrs’ Memorial from a distance. Standing tall with seven walls, the National Martyrs’ Memorial. Here these seven walls symbolize the growing struggle leading to the final victory.
And more details I am trying to present step by step through each picture.

Public Works Office
In this office mainly those who are responsible here stay. That is, as the main task of the Public Works Office, I came to know that they are responsible for the maintenance of the National Martyrs’ Memorial, ensuring that the general public can properly visit these places and remember the memories, as well as keeping the environment pleasant and carrying out repair works.
At the same time, they are always engaged in ensuring a beautiful and dignified environment for visitors. As when we went, whistles were already being blown instructing to leave, that is, at 6 o’clock they close the gate. From 5 o’clock they start blowing whistles.

Big trees standing tall
If you enter through the gate on the right side, you will first see these wonderful trees. At the same time, right on the side is this Public Works Department office.
The trees look taller than big palm trees. Everyone was leaving at that time while we were entering. Of course, many people were also entering.
On the right side you will see wonderful tall trees. The trees give shade and cover the visitors. This beautiful environment is pleasant to protect from the heat of the sun. Although my brother and sister and I arrived there at 5:30 PM. We stayed only 15 to 20 minutes and visited a small part.

Green trees and nature
After you enter through this gate and walk a little ahead you will see this wonderful abundance of greenery. Truly, coming here brings peace of mind. Surrounded by this beautiful greenery, a deep feeling of joy begins within the heart.
It has been designed in such a way that visitors feel peace. To remember the martyrs, they may observe silence and pray to Almighty Allah for their forgiveness.
It has been a year since I came to this place, but I had not entered inside due to my general duty. Even then I targeted to come here with love, so after waiting two minutes, I quickly came with love.

The Memorial with footsteps of visitors
When we arrived, we saw from children to elderly, young men to women, everyone comes here. Even families are present in this place.
Now it is considered as a special tourist center. However, on every national day, flowers are placed here as a humble tribute to the martyrs. At that time, the main gate here remains open. That is the main entrance at the front of the National Martyrs’ Memorial.
Unfortunately, we do not get time to come here as our duty is from 8 AM to 5 PM. Still, I tried to come here and got very little time when everyone was leaving, at that time we entered the National Martyrs’ Memorial.

My photography at the noise-free National Martyrs’ Memorial
If you have noticed, there are two points to see carefully here:
All around me only greenery. Around are “Christmas Trees”. Walking here truly feels like coming to a pleasant environment and one of the best places to cheer up the mind.
This green nature and this place of humble tribute to martyrs is wonderful. At the same time, my personal joy. Especially in the evening, when sunlight peeks through the trees, it feels really good.
There are responsible people assigned to clean this place. Always neat and clean here. At the same time, when I captured this photo, there was no one in my background because at that time the responsible person was blowing whistles asking everyone to leave. Then we also took the photo and left.

Exit way
Everyone was leaving through this path. Beside there are two small gates. Through these small gates people were leaving and some entering. But after entering they could not go inside, only roam near the gate. Because whistles were already being blown asking to leave.
The exit path is also wonderful and refreshing. I saw two small children selling flowers.

Guidelines at the gate
Open for the public. Only from 10 AM to 5 PM.
I have seen this place crowded with people. Many come from faraway places to visit. Simply put, it can be said that people come here to remember all martyrs and pray for them.
One of our mistakes is that though we come, we don’t pray for them or even think of them. We remain in joy. That is very unfortunate for us.
Pray for the forgiveness of the souls of all martyrs. Many beggars remain outside, please donate to them.
On the entrance path there are many small entrepreneurs who sell their small products to earn their livelihood. I saw cotton candy being sold here. At the same time, olive pickle, fried peanuts, fried chickpeas, chanachur, guava, hog plum.
Also peacock feathers were being sold. In childhood, I played a lot with peacock feathers. Bought one stick for 10 Taka. I kept the feathers in books and ate chalk powder :-) These are the childhood memories that come to mind now.
I thank brother @mohammadfaisal for organizing this wonderful contest. Because through this contest I was able to present about this place, its photography and video. So below I attached a video, let us see the complete details from entry to exit. 📷⏺️📷
In this contest, I invite my three friends.

Memorial means many dreams intertwined with memories. Many things that were left unsaid in words that happened in 1971. When our country gained independence. Many youth of our country were martyred in the Language Movement of 1952. Some of them have been mentioned in this memorial. And every year, in memory of them, many types of events are celebrated in the memorial in our country.
You have shared a lot with us about the memorial. You have also shared with us some photographs of the memorial. It was really nice to see that. Thank you very much for inviting me.
