One Picture One Story
Hello friends how are you all doing today I hope all is well and you all are having a great day, today I will be taking part in the one picture one story contest week99 which is being organized by @suboohi
"Old is gold," at least that's one phrase we grew up hearing, and indeed it is. As I was scrolling through my backup pictures in my Google Cloud, I came across this amazing photo of me. The picture was taken by my friend, Prince Udosen.
The picture is four years old, and I remember that day very well. It was back when I was still in college. I recall coming back from our library studies class when my friend, Prince Udosen, and I decided to take some pictures.
What makes this picture so special |
|---|
The idea of what makes the picture so special is the fact that back then I was a college student, and we all know or have an idea about school struggles. Back then, having no support at all was terrible for me, and life, as we all know, was very hard and unbearable.
Though I was always a hardworking kind of guy, school was so consuming, and my ability to balance school life and its struggles with my part-time work life was kind of out of proportion.
So the picture above reminds me of my life struggles and how I would wake up every single day not sure of what to eat and not even sure if I would be able to complete my studies because all I had was my bicycle, phone, and my work, but the salary wasn't enough.
What makes the picture so special is the fact that it reminds me of that one ugly feeling, the feeling of having to "drop out from school." Yes! That is exactly what happened. When you have a job that pays less and with no external support, dropping out from school is always the final destination.
What makes the picture so special is the fact that I saw myself compared to today. I was in very bad and terrible shape, mostly with my physical appearance. You know, when you're eating less and stressing more, you will definitely lose shape and become thin. So I was so thin, and sometimes I would look at myself in the mirror and I would just despise myself.
The general idea and it's lessons |
|---|
The general idea and the lessons I have learned so far after seeing this picture is that the journey of life is filled with challenges, and how we handle and treat these challenges determines our future. Though I dropped out of college, I didn't stop there. I kept on thriving and working hard because one thing I knew for sure is that hard work pays.
Though it might take time, I worked and earned some money. At the same time, I also saved those earnings because "a penny saved is a penny earned," and that penny earned is what is helping me thrive today. I started university studying fine art education, and this is my 200 level. This time, I must graduate, Amen.
This will be the end of my entry and I will like to invite @emuhasan, @tom5050 & @anykon
