The Joy or Creating : My Painting Workshop

There is a special kind of joy in doing something new, especially when you start an activity with a fresh mind and no set plan, then actually see it through to the end. That is exactly what happened to me today.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve started a painting workshop. It’s still in the early stages, so I don't have many orders yet. I went to the workshop today as usual, and after finishing my basic routine, I decided to practice some calligraphy.
Growing up, we used wooden pens (qalam), ink, and wooden boards (takhti) to practice writing. These days, those wooden pens aren't easily found in markets; you could even say they’ve become rare.
Because of this, I decided to make my own. I took some wooden sticks and used a blade to carve them into the shape of a "Cut Pen." I already had various colored inks that I use for writing banners, so I started writing whatever Urdu calligraphy words came to mind just to test out the nibs of my new pens.

The images I shared above are a few words of Urdu calligraphy. People from Pakistan or anyone who understands the Urdu language will be able to recognize them. After this practice, there are a few more activities I’d love to share with you—I think you’ll find them quite interesting.
I have decided to teach my skills to my son, so he usually joins me at the shop after school. Since today was Sunday, he spent the whole day there with me. He really enjoys drawing as well.
While I was busy practicing my calligraphy, I noticed him working on a sketch. It was a very interesting character that I didn't recognize. Perhaps @wakeupkitty might know which cartoon character it is! :-)

The elders say that knowledge only increases by sharing it. Personally, it makes me very happy when someone wants to learn; it actually makes me even more excited to teach them. I recently started a social media campaign to offer calligraphy and painting classes to anyone interested. I’ll explain the details of that in my next post.
Currently, I have two students: my son and a 43-year-old man who is very passionate about learning calligraphy. I don't find that strange at all, because there is no age limit for learning. A person learns at every stage of life.
I truly believe that having the desire to learn is a great quality. No matter what the skill is, having a craft or talent is always useful in life.

I have plenty of ideas in mind that I plan to put into action step by step. If you found anything interesting in my post, please let me know in the comments.
That’s all for today. INSHALLAH will see you in the next post. Goodbye!
