Standing by the river, sometimes it feels like all the questions in the world have stopped here. The moonlight was slowly spreading across the riverbed. It was as if time itself was walking. I was seeing him for the first time in that very silent environment. He was sitting alone on the riverbank. There were no stars, no restlessness, there was a deep stillness in his eyes as if he had no quarrel with life. Many people are afraid of silence. Because silence makes us face ourselves. But that man chose silence as a refuge.
The next day we met again. In the same place, the same calm demeanor. I realized that he came here not to escape but to find himself anew. I didn't ask him who he was? What he did? Where did he come from? Because when you ask some people, they become small. They just have to feel that the river was still flowing, the moon was still in the sky, and that man was like a silent story standing between the two. He didn't come anymore, the river was light, nature was there, but the man was not. That day I realized that not all stories are written in words, some stories are in silence. And those silent stories are what make us think the most. Even today, when I stand by the river, I feel like silence is not a sign of losing something, but rather the deepest path to finding onesbless.
