Is there room for AI content on the Steem blockchain?

I just read a study claiming over 60% of online content these days comes from AI. Wild, right? And it’s not slowing down. Honestly, I know this topic can get people worked up, but let’s just talk about it openly. I wrote this myself, no AI involved, because I want a real, human conversation. Here’s what I think: we can’t just pretend AI content doesn’t exist. Sure, we can promise ourselves to avoid it, but that feels like fighting against the tide. Some people say this is progress for machines but a step back for us. Maybe there’s some truth to that. Still, I want to believe people can tell the difference and think for themselves, no matter where the content comes from.

Another angle is honesty. If people build AI with solid ethics—and make it open source so we can check under the hood—it might actually lie less than humans do. Imagine that. AI could stick closer to the truth, and let’s be real, humans mess up all the time. Who knows, maybe one day AI will even run organizations. That idea freaks me out a little, but it’s not impossible.

When I look at content, I care about two things: creativity and usefulness. Right now, AI still struggles with real creativity. Sometimes it just goes off the rails. What would be the point of having AI dig up all this useful info only to hide it away? That’s where I see the upside—letting AI-generated content live on something like the Steem blockchain, which is all about sharing in different forms. So, I don’t see any harm in it. In fact, I think allowing AI content could help the Steem blockchain grow and evolve.
