SCS32-W4 || Real-Life Problem Solving Challenge: Reduce Mobile Addiction
◉How many hours do you use your mobile, and which application is used the most?◉ |
|---|
My average screen time is about 3 hours per day. Sometimes it go little more sometimes less. I feel it is okay but still I try to control it more. The app I use most is Hari Raid game. In morning after Fajr prayer, I play this game for some time. It gives me relax feeling and mind becomes fresh before start day. I enjoy it simple game and it help me feel good.

Other than that, I also use Steemit. I read posts write my own content and also reply to people. I think this is most useful time I spend on mobile because I learn something and also improve my writing.
Facebook I use only sometimes, just to check updates. WhatsApp I use but not too much only for important messages.

◉What are the reasons why you use your mobile phone so much?◉ |
|---|
There are few simple reasons why I use mobile. First reason is entertainment. I like playing Hari Raid game in the morning. It is fun for me and I enjoy it.

Second reason is my work on Steemit. I spend time reading posts and writing. Sometimes I take time to think ideas and make post. So this is also part of my daily routine. This is a platform where I learn with earnings both.

Third reason is communication. Sometimes I need to talk with friends or check messages on WhatsApp. That is why I use WhatsApp.
But I also notice one thing when mobile time increase too much my eyes feel tired and my focus also go down. So I try now to not over use it.
◉Share three physical activities that take you away from screen time.◉ |
|---|
There are three main activities that really help me stay away from mobile.
Gardening: I like gardening. When I water plants or clean area, I forget mobile. It gives peace and fresh air also. I feel calm in that time.

Teaching Students: I am private teacher. During teaching time I stay busy with students. I explain lessons, check work and help them. In that time mobile is not in my mind.
Spending time with children: After work I spend time with my children. We talk play small games and sit together. These moments are very important for me. It also reduce my screen time without effort.

These activities give me good feeling and also make my day more meaningful.
◉What benefits did you see when you reduced your screen time?◉ |
|---|
Before I was using mobile more than now. I was not even realizing how much time I was wasting. After reducing screen time, I noticed some changes in my life.
First, I feel more active in daily routine. Second, I have more time for family and work. Third my mind feels less tired than before.
Now I understand balance is very important. Mobile is not bad thing but over use is problem.
Access of everything is bad
Even now I am still learning to improve myself more.
◉What advice would you give to others to avoid excessive screen time and reduce mobile phone use?◉ |
|---|
I want to share some simple advice:
- Try to set daily limit for mobile use.
- Do not use phone while eating food.
- Spend time with family and real life people.
- Do some physical work like walking or gardening.
- Use mobile only for useful things, not just scrolling again and again.
- Keep phone away when you are studying or working.
- Try to read books or learn some new skill.
- Mobile is useful tool but only when we control it. If we use it without control, it can waste our time.
- We cannot leave mobile because it is part of life now. But we can control how we use it.
- If we reduce useless screen time and focus on real life activities our life becomes better and more productive.

Thank you so much @ahsansharif for this challenge. My friends , I enjoy this week. Do you?

It is wonderful to know that, alongside gardening, you also teach children. If you wish, you could encourage a group of children to cut down on their mobile phone usage and steer their focus toward art or other creative activities. You have written beautifully; thank you.
