SLC32-W2 || Real Life Problem Solving Challenge: Budget Planning

Assalam o Alaikum everyone! Budget plan is very important part of our daily life. Many people work hard and earn money but without proper planning their income finish very quickly. I am a private teacher and I have family to support. Manage money carefully is very important for me. Good budget help me control my expenses and save money for future needs. In this post, I will share how I manage my monthly budget. This method I use to track my expenses, unnecessary expenses that affect my income and how I save money for future difficulties. I sure my experience will be useful for all.

◉How do you plan your weekly or monthly budget? Explain well.◉

My friends I am private teacher and my monthly income is around 35,000 rupees. In start of every month I sit down with my notebook and write all expected expenses. First I allocate money for household groceries because it is most important need of my family. After that I set aside money for electricity bills, gas bills, travel expenses and mobile recharge.
I try my best not to spend money without planning. Writing everything help me see where my money is going. This habit keep me organize and reduce unnecessary spending.

Method I use is very simple. I use notebook to record my expenses. Whenever I spend money I write this amount and purpose in my notebook. This allows me to compare my planned expenses with my actual expenses.
For this challenge I will also share a selfie with my notebook. It is an easy and low cost method but it works very well for me. Every week I check my note and see if I stayed within my budget or spent more than expected.

◉What are the unnecessary expenses that affect your income? Explain.◉

Like many people I also have some unnecessary expenses. Biggest ones are cold drinks and fast food. Sometimes when I am outside or with friends, I spend money on these things without thinking much.
Although these expenses can look small, this become large amount at end of month. I realized that reducing these habits can help me save more money. Now I try to avoid buying cold drinks and fast food too. I focus more on family needs.

◉How do you save money from your income that will sustain you for future hardships?◉

Saving money is very important because nobody know what future may bring. Every month I try to keep small amount separate from my income before spending on other things.

I keep my savings at home in safe place. This saved money helps me during emergencies or unexpected expenses. Even amount is small, regular saving creates financial security and peace of mind.

Yes budget has helped me lot. Last month I want to buy ceiling fan for my home. Instead of spending money carelessly, I followed my budget and controlled unnecessary expenses.

By reducing extra spending on cold drinks and fast food, I managed to save my money. This way I bought ceiling fan without borrowing money from anyone. This experience showed me that proper planning can help achieve household goals easily.

◉What advice would you give to others for great budget planning?◉

My advice is very simple. Always write down your income and expenses. We should not depend only on memory. Try to separate needs from wants and avoid unnecessary expenses.
Even if your income is small saving little every month can make big difference. A budget is not only about saving money. It is about living more organize and stress free life. Good financial habits today can protect us from many problems tomorrow.
