Bro this Division 8 AI match against Barcelona was not normal at all. I went into it thinking it would be one of those tight games where the AI parks the bus and frustrates you, but nah, this one ended 8-0 in my favor and I was just in shock the whole time. I was using my green and yellow kit team and from kickoff you could tell the AI wasn’t ready. The first 10 minutes I was just feeling them out, passing with Busquets and Alvaro Carreras, trying to see where the gaps were. Barcelona AI kept trying to play from the back with Donnarumma but my press was too aggressive. Every time I hit "Dash & Pressure" they would panic and give the ball away. The game was fast, the crowd was loud, and I could already feel that this was going to be one of those days where everything just works.
The breakthrough came around the 22nd minute and after that it was just a goal fest. I played a perfect through ball from midfield, Rooney picked it up, took one touch and fired it past the keeper. The screen popped up "Challenge Completed" and showed Rooney’s 97 card with his celebration. That goal broke the AI completely. Before that they were still trying to build with Messi and Pedri, but after 1-0 they just fell apart. I scored 3 more before halftime. One was a counter where Gerrard won the ball, played Diouf, and he squared it. Another was a corner that Rooney headed in. By the time the ref blew for halftime it was 4-0 and the AI looked like they didn’t even want to be on the pitch anymore. The commentary kept saying "Marvellous Goal! Now Keep Going!" and I was just sitting there laughing because Division 8 matches are never this easy.
Second half I told myself to keep the same energy and not play safe. That’s when it really got crazy. I switched to all-out attack and started abusing the wings. Valverde and Fletcher were running the midfield like it was nothing, winning every second ball. Every attack ended in a shot and almost every shot was a goal. I remember one sequence where Diouf picked the ball at the halfway line, did a skill move past two defenders, played a one-two with Rooney and tapped it in. Another goal came from a cross that their defense just watched. The AI tried to bring on subs and change formation but it didn’t matter. Their backline was so slow and my forwards were just too quick. I even started doing rainbow flicks and skill moves because the game was already won. The AI keeper Donnarumma was diving everywhere but nothing was saving those shots.
What made this 8-0 different is that it didn’t feel like I was just cheesing the AI. I was actually playing good football. The passing was crisp, the movement off the ball was clean, and I was using all the controls properly - "Through" balls, "Match-up" defending, "Switch" to get out wide. Players like Darren Fletcher were putting in tackles, Busquets was dictating tempo, and my fullbacks were bombing forward every attack. Even when Barcelona tried to attack with Messi and Neymar on the wings, my defense just swallowed them up. At 6-0 I thought I should slow down but the goals kept coming because the AI kept making mistakes. By 75 minutes I was just playing keep ball and running the clock but they still gave me two more goals because they lost possession in their own half.
Final whistle and it’s 8-0. I’ve played so many Division 8 matches and I’ve never seen a scoreline like that against Barca AI. Rooney ended with a hattrick, Diouf had 2 goals and 3 assists, Gerrard was everywhere in midfield. The whole team finished with 9.0+ ratings and I just sat there looking at the screen like "did that really happen". I immediately saved the replay because I need to watch those goals again, especially the Rooney volley and the Diouf solo run. This is the kind of win that gives you confidence for ranked. If I can play like this consistently then Division 7 is next. 8-0 against Barcelona AI... I’m still processing it bro 😂
