Creating Our TLE Park in School Using Recycled Armchairs and Old Sewing Machines
Hello my lovelies! How have you been? I hope everything is great wherever you are today. Greetings from the Philippines!
Today, I want to share our project at school with my co-teachers. We recently completed our TLE Park! TLE or Technology and Livelihood Education is one of the subjects being taught in high school. A performance-based subject where students are trained in fields like cookery, dressmaking, agriculture, electricity, computer, drafting, beauty care, electronics, housekeeping, robotics and more. And since I am teaching Cookery, I belong to the TLE team, so we created this TLE Park. It has been months since we started working on our park. And finally, today we were able to complete everything! So happy and accomplished!
We started off with a big area that needs to be cultivated, where additional soil should be added, ornamental plants to be reared and some decorations to add accent to our area. And so with everybody's bayanihan or cooperation, together we did the tasks with jolly hearts and smiling faces. It was like working with a big family!
First, is we have to clear the area, pull some weeds and gather some soil from a nearby lot to add to the plant boxes. Then, we could already plant our ornamental plants. We also did some painting to give the space some light and colors.
Second, we were able to create the signage of our park- I ❤️ TLE. We used some plywood, cut it into letters and sprayed them. After spraying, we used some old meter sticks to form the letters inside. We also have some tools posted in the metal board with some labels.
Lastly, we used some old sewing machines and recreated them into colorful coffee tables. And to pair the tables, we also used old armchairs and replaced the back portion with heart-shaped wood. We opted to color the area orange because of its vibrant color, just a happy color.
So yes, with some recycling and cooperation, we were able to complete our project. So happy with how it turned out!
One of the things I really love working with my team is whenever I cook some snacks and lunch for them and together, we enjoyed our food together over laughter and fun.

Cooking Nilarang nga Tuna for lunch

My Creamy Chocolate Porridge for snacks
Indeed, Confucius is right. If you love your work, you'll never work a day in your life.
I love this job! And I'm simply happy with the results of our cooperation and fun.
