The Diary Game [March 27, 2026] //A Simple But Productive Day.
It was a day where there was nothing so big on it that I could recall when I started that day, but when I take a glance back at it, I realized that there was a lot done. It was one of the days, the type of day that makes life continue running. I rose up, did whatever I was supposed to do and by the time night fell, I felt that the day was well spent.
The morning started early. First of all, I chose to work on some weight lifting to make my body not stand still. I have been attempting to remain faithful to exercising and today I ensured that I did not miss out. My exercise tools are extremely rudimentary, being in the form of homemade dumbbells of concrete (with wooden handles) and stone weights. They do not resemble the image of a gym, yet they can do the job well. My reps went on, and I got sweaty and felt good upon completion. Early morning exercise has something to do with it that puts a good mood on the rest of the day.
I was hungry after the exercise and had to have something to eat. I attended a local provision shop to purchase what was required to prepare garri. The shop was hung around the gate with all sort of little snacks and food stuff inside it, packed in bags and such like, biscuits, sachets, etc. I got what I wanted soon and went home. In the morning Garri is nothing complicated but it is good to fill the stomach and it provides energies to kick start the day. It is simple food, but it works.
When I was done eating, I got down to work. My older brother required assistance in some video editing, and I had to do it. I opened CapCut in my phone and began assembling things. Video editing is time consuming and tedious, particularly when you would like it to look clean. I have taken some time cutting, rearranging and ensuring that everything was correct, so I was able to export the video. I was staring at the CapCut export screen gradually rising to 0 percent and waited until it was done. I felt good when I watched it go up to 100% and the video release. One always gets satisfaction once a project is completed.
In the afternoons I had to cook the evening meal. I felt like making stew to accompany rice and that is why I went to purchase pepper and tomatoes. I discovered that at the market, there was a wooden stand which had tomatoes and peppers stacked in shelves. Fresh tomatoes, scotch bonnets, and other peppers had all been laid out. I purchased what I wanted and even made a visit to another stall next to it to do my shopping. Her Moniepoint and OPay account numbers were written on a board that that vendor had so that a customer could pay digitally, a little but clever idea. I decided to make my purchase, put all the things together and went back home, to begin cooking.
I also sat down to do some creative work on my part as the food was being sorted. I possess a YouTube channel and I had to assemble a thumbnail to a video that I intend to post. My design of thumbnails is also a serious matter as it is the first image one sees before deciding whether to open a video or not. I created a dark, cinematic style thumbnail which possessed drama to it, the type that one notices at first glance. After I was satisfied with its appearance, I saved it and left it aside, to be used at a time when I would need it.
I met with a typical issue in the evening no light. I have to handle power cuts on a regular basis and therefore, I was required to go out and charge my phone in a nearby charging station. It was referred to as Ke-Vin Charging Station, a low profile shop that dealt in phone accessories too. It is not the most convenient thing to do but you do what you must do to keep in touch.
I spent some time on Steemit back home. I responded to the comments left by people in my posts and also came up with some new posts. I like doing Steemit, as I have a channel to express ideas, meet new people, and even make a profit because of the content I publish. I ensured that my answers were reflective and the posts that I wrote were worth reading.
I spent some time to make few phone calls to my friends as well. Nothing too extensive, just short talks to get the voices of the people and assure oneself that everyone was fine. Small check-ins are important than one may believe.
At approximately 9pm, I was through with the day. I got everything packed up, took a moment to rest and began winding down. It was a day that was not flashy but was a full one, exercise, food, work, creativity and connection. That is sufficient to any good day.
