The Diary Game: A Beautiful Saturday Of Service, Food And Gratitude(31/1/2026)

Good day my amazing Steemians!!
How have you been, and how is your weekend going? Mine has been smooth and refreshing, and I’d love to take you along on how my Saturday unfolded.

My Saturdays usually kick off with house chores, so I woke up quite early because I had a lot lined up. First on my list was washing this alone takes most of my time and energy, which is why I like to tackle it first. Once that was done, I moved on to cleaning the bathroom. Honestly, I love a clean toilet it’s something I can never compromise on .

After that came sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and washing the dishes in the sink. While I was busy cleaning, my mum was already in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Knowing food would be ready after all that hard work made everything feel lighter.

Breakfast Goals 🍳🥔
Breakfast was fried potatoes, egg sauce, and tea yummy, right? It sure was! Mum handled the potatoes while I made the sauce, and in no time, a delicious and satisfying meal was ready. I served myself, enjoyed every bite, and felt so grateful.

Market Runs & Movie Time
After eating, I rested for a few minutes, washed the dishes, and then headed to the market. As expected, it was crowded with people doing their weekend shopping. I picked up ingredients for soup and stew, along with a few groceries, then headed back home. Some items went straight into the freezer while others stayed at room temperature.

Once everything was arranged, I relaxed with a movie though I couldn’t finish it because I had a church activity to attend.

EVENING AT CHURCH

I quickly freshened up, got ready with my boy, and we arrived on time. It was a get-together service/party, and it was beautiful. We started with thanksgiving to God, followed by prayers and heartfelt testimonies both personal and about the church. Listening to them reminded me that God truly never sleeps and is always with us. The Reverend shared a lovely sermon, we prayed again, and then it was time for food. Food, Fellowship & Full Hearts 🍛

The children were served first, then the adults. There was garri, fufu with Afang soup, and jollof rice. My boy and I enjoyed jollof rice with a bottle of zobo—dinner sorted! 😋 I thanked the chef and those who served before we headed home.
By the time we got back, it was already dark. My mum welcomed us, I bathed my boy and put him to sleep, freshened up myself, and then relaxed, scrolling through my phone.
It truly was an amazing day filled with love, good food, and wonderful people.
