The Diary Game: My Day of Cooking Afang Soup—30/3/26
What’s up, guys? It's your friend Bishop123! How was your day today? I hope everything went well for you. As for me, I give all thanks to God because He made my day beautiful and successful.
Today was a special one for me because I decided to cook afang soup. It’s one of my favorite meals, and I was really excited to make it myself. I started my day by going to the market to get all the ingredients I needed. I bought fresh afang leaves, waterleaf, meat, dry fish, stockfish, crayfish, pepper, and palm oil.
When I got back home, I began by washing all the ingredients properly. After that, I started preparing the vegetables. I first cut the afang leaves by myself, making sure they were sliced very thin. It took me some time, but I enjoyed doing it. After cutting the afang, I also cut the water leaf and kept it ready for cooking. Next, I started boiling the meat and stockfish with seasoning cubes, salt, and onions to give it a nice taste. The aroma coming from the pot already made me feel excited.
After the meat was soft, I added palm oil and allowed everything to cook well together. Then I added the waterleaf and let it cook for a few minutes before putting in the afang leaves that I had cut by myself. I stirred everything together carefully and added crayfish and pepper to give it a rich flavor. As the soup was cooking, the smell filled the whole kitchen. I tasted it and adjusted the seasoning until it was just right.
Finally, my afang soup was ready! I served it with garri, and it was very delicious. I felt proud of myself for preparing everything, from cutting the vegetables to cooking the soup.
That was how I spent my day. Thank you guys for reading my diary. See you next time!
