Why does it appear?

📌Pregnancy hormones
During pregnancy, hormones like estrogen and progesterone seen in the female reproductive part increases. These hormones helps stimulate the skin cells that produce pigment (melanin), causing the line to become darker.

Just as the belly stretches so as the skin changes, and the line may appear more pronounced or visible.

The line is always actually there which is called "linea alba" but then, pregnancy hormones make it more visible and darker.

There are common misconception, people believe that:

And
