Contest alert- All in one contest W19: Food challenge and Writing expedition

INTRODUCTION

Greetings dear members of @Steem Kids & Parents, I am happy to be here today. I am @destinedhanik and I am participating in the food challenge by @saniya9, so let's look at what we have. Food is necessary for survival and a good meal, apart from giving us good health makes us happy. I hope you learn one or two things from me. The meal I'll be talking about today is beans and plantain.

INGREDIENTS

• Beans

• Water

• Palm oil

• Spices

• Fresh pepper

• Fresh tomatoes

• Salt

• Onions

• Plantain

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Step 1
After selecting the dirt from the beans, I washed it before putting it on the fire to boil. When it boiled for few minutes, I drained the water, the added another water so that when it softens, I'll start adding the Ingredients. The reason it is boiled for few minutes and the water drained is so that whatever was used in preserving the beans will be poured out with the first water.

Step 2
When the beans became soft, I added other ingredients. I added spice which was knorr maggi, I added salt and the fresh pepper, and a little of the onions before stirring it for the ingredients to mix together with the beans.

Step 3
After some minutes when the ingredients had mixed together with the beans, I decided to add palm oil. One can fry the oil and add or add it without frying, so I decided to fry the oil before adding. I then added the remaining onions and the fresh tomatoes I had shredded to the oil before pouring the oil into the beans.

Step 4
After pouring the fried oil into the beans,I stirred it and made sure everything has been mixed and after few minutes, my beans was ready and ok to be brought down.

Step 5
Though beans can be eaten with different things like bread, pap, yam, potatoes, etc, I decided to eat mine with plantain. So I shredded off the back of the plantain and cut it into the shape I want before boiling it.

Conclusion

Beans is good for the body. It is a source of carbohydrate and protein. Carbohydrate gives energy while protein supports immune health. Plantains are sources of carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals which is also good for the body. I ate my beans and plantain as breakfast and as dinner.
