Visit to the war museum... A journey to the past
Travel can never be fun without exploration, and honestly to relate everything I enjoyed my last villa holiday is just endless, but of course I'll start somewhere.
So we got to the villa on 30th December 2025... It was something I had been expecting for ages, and was was that, my phone was having so much issues, infact it's that issues that made us to go that late...
We got there early in the morning and yayyy we finally got to see our long seen cousins... It's been more than 7 years since we last saw them, we were literal kids when I saw them last but now everyone has grown so much... I mean they've all grown taller and bigger and more mature and we got along in a matter of seconds.
It was fun gisting with them, while we were talking they said they already had plans to visit the national museum located in Umuahia...
I've never been there before, And the museum contained so many facets of the concluded Biafran war.
That'll be my first time in a museum, before we knew it, we were also invited to follow along.
By around three in the afternoon, everyone was ready and we headed out, we hadn't been there before anyways so we had to follow my uncle closely to get there.
When we got there we were told that there was a payment, we were to pay 1 thousand naira each, we got some snacks while we were waiting for the processes.
We got into the war museum proper, that's what it is called... Inside the museum was delightful, all the weapons that was used for fighting was present, the initial thing used in fighting was just bows and slings, we saw stones too, not normal ones, made me imagine the one David used to defeat Goliath 🤣.

Then as we got further we saw the modern weapons, literally saw an AK-47 real life, and many other weapons... Saw their uniforms and various clothings they wore, what amazed us was when we saw heels in the show case, I'm pretty sure that wasn't used to fight.
We were then taken to the underground bunker, we went 15ft underground... We saw their hideouts, and various badges and their meanings for the armed forces.
There was an entire section for effects of the war, that was the most emotional part for me, children constantly dying of hunger, crying babies whose mom's are too malnourished to even breastfeed them.
Dead corpses everywhere, running children, I could literally feel And hear the sound of fear that everyone felt, and wishes that nothing should ever make anyone to experience such atrocities in their lifetime.
We got to a fleet of stairs that led us out of the underground bunker, and we saw a vast expanse of land where we were under, we saw the air vents where the got air from under the bunker... It wasn't easy at all for them oo.

Then we aww their armored vehicles... We sat in them and pretended we were using the guns, it was funny though.
We saw their war planes, the areas were the bombs were released when they were up in the air.

Then probably the best part... We entered the war ship... It was the most exciting part... We entered into the ship and explored everywhere, the kitchens, toilets, the place for the captain, we were literally driving the ship by turning the wheel.
We were singing sponge Bob square pants.

We saw the guns and everything, honestly it was something u needed to experience, after everything it was all fun and I enjoyed my time... It was something I loved so much...
Here's a glimpse...
