Amazing season, and much love from my heart to you all. I pray God to see us through the remaining days of 2025 in Jesus Christ's name. Amen. 21X.

After the stress on Sunday, I was having pains all over my joints; therefore, before I slept, my wife told me that she can't remember the last time I exercised intentionally. I made up my mind to go on road work the next day. Other events were going to see our fashion designer to make my son a suit, partaking in a birthday we didn't know about and returning to watch the AFCON match between Egypt and Zimbabwe before we called it a night. Read through as we put our engagements in phases.

MORNING ACTIVITIES

I went to bed the night before preparing for a road walk to help me exercise and ease the joint pains all over my body. Waking up, I said a silent prayer not to disturb the sleep of my family, as it was not the normal time for morning devotion. I set out from Udoinwang Street off Nwaniba Road toward Four Lanes (Water Fountain) - Nwaniba Road, Uyo. It was still dark, although I could see afar the solar street lights littered everywhere.

I continued to do the running until I reached the walkover that links the end-to-end of the road, helping pedestrians to walk across to safety without negotiating with cars speeding as though running a car race to win a prize. I used the steps to modify my exercising skills. Not too long, others joined, as that spot has been a popular ground for those living along Nwaniba to do their daily exercises. I have not been with them before; therefore, I didn't hesitate to leave before it got crowded.

On remembering my friend living close to the Four Lanes route, I decided to use the walkover to visit him. I was the one who woke him up from his sweet morning sleep so that he could prepare for work, but he surprised me with his presence as he picked up his machete and walked past me to the backyard only to return with a mighty bunch of plantain, which could have amounted to 7k to 10k in today's economy. He told me, “This is the season of gifts and love. Please, it's for your family.” I was amazed and speechless.

After my time in their house, he was set for work; he picked up the plantain to drop me off before going his way. Such a gesture is rare, but it does exist. He taught me many things from his actions, which I will point out at the conclusion of this write-up.

AFTERNOON RECORDS

My noon was good for sleep, and my family and I utilised it very well before I went to number 2 Abak Road to pick up the 2026 calendar from a Christian bookshop produced by the Bible Society of Nigeria. At about 3pm, a member whose wedding is on the 3rd of January 2026 called me to remind me that my son will be his ring bearer. With the description of the suit he sent to me, I quickly called Destiny Designers Clothing Global Fashion Limited to put my son on their list of delivery in 2025. The CEO told me to bring him to the office, and I did in the evening.

EVENING TIME

At about 4:37pm, I forced my son to wake up with food. After feeding him and getting us ready to go, my beloved wife asked if she would be left alone in the house. I told her to prepare, and we went together. We passed through the busy Itam Flyover to Atiku Abubakar Road, where the office of the Destiny Designers is located. By 5:42pm, we were there.

My boy was measured and just as we were about to go, preparations for the birthday were ongoing where the apprentices were, being their regular customer and Chaplain, they told me to wait and be part of the birthday, open with prayers for the celebrant. My wife accepted our stay. The birthday celebration started, and everything was done as planned. There was cake, drinks and food, and we also supported the birthday boy financially.

Dinner - Samsung A05

After a while, we left; night was already falling. Getting up there was the power supply, and I watched the AFCON match between Egypt and Zimbabwe. It was a beautiful game which one might have thought Zimbabwe would win, but the Pharaohs of Egypt pushed for a level in the second half of the game before the Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, representing his country, gave Egypt the lead to claim 3 points into the next game with hope. Dinner was well served before bed.

LESSONS OF THE DAY

  1. Check on your friends when you have time.
  2. Give when it is within your power
  3. Love one another

STAY BLESSED
