The Diary Game || MY SON'S HEALTH, LECTURES’ CANCELLATION AFTER WAITING FOR HOURS AND OTHER ENGAGEMENTS || 4/2/2026

Dear Steemians, I bring you warmest greetings, thanking God for His mercies and also trusting that you're blessed. I am @freshgrace, here to share the experiences of my day, every activity, how it unfolded, and ended.

The above outline will give you the summary of what the day brought in case I can't give the details as much as you may expect. But then, let's report in three (3) phases (morning, afternoon, and evening).

Every day starts with morning devotion using the family Altar of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Devotional Guide 2026. The topic for 4 February was “A Letter from God” with a Bible passage drawn from 2 Chronicles 21:12-20 while the memory verse was captured from verse 12 of the same chapter.

2Chr.21.12 - And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, 4 Thus says the LORD God of your father David: 4 Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

The manual gave commentary on the text on the implications of the letter the king received through Elijah, the prophet. I would not like to burden us with too many details here but will summarize by saying that the children of God always have in our consciousness that God records our deeds, whether good or bad, and there's a pay day as in the case of Jehoshaphat read from the passage.

Our prayers were, if God ever writes us a letter, it will be a letter of commendation as in Matthew 25:23:

His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

May our little effort before God be commended in Jesus Christ's name amen.

From there to school, I had the morning and 12 noon lectures, with the one at 3 pm. I called the course lecturer and he told me to wait. I hung around the campus distracting myself to kill time. At some point, I was watching the departmental football game and near the mini stadium, I got some popcorn to relax with my colleague. The game and the popcorn help us to sit for hours before 3 pm.

But it was disappointing. Going to class, the man canceled the lecture and told us to come next week. I was unhappy because I should have gone home, knowing that my son was not feeling well and my wife was heavy. I left with that frustration, not forgetting that it's part of those experiences to expect. I switched mode to accommodate happiness while going home.

I met my wife who was managing to cook. Immediately she saw me and I heard “welcome dear, please take over the kitchen”. She had sliced the okra and other stuff. I changed my top and moved straight to cook. I am kitchen-friendly although I do not enter the powerhouse often.

While we were eating, she was telling how the temperature of the boy was high, how she was mopping him with wet clothes, and that he was refusing to eat food, after managing pap and akara (bean cake) that helped him take his drugs. By this time the boy was still asleep.

I assisted my wife in caring for our boy. The necessary treatment was done and he was now feeling better after a long period of sleep. He woke up to say “Mommy I want to eat”.

I was glad that although he didn't eat much, I took him out to a nearby shop and got him biscuits and packs of Ribena juice. He enjoyed this combo and started playing and doing his usual writing on any book he saw.

At 5pm, i went for Bible Study class in our worship centre. I was a bit late concerning my son. I met them about 20 minutes later. The study was so profound to me, with the topic "The Uses/Benefits of God’s Grace". It was interesting in as we are depending on God’s, the unmerited favour serving us from all unfaithfulness and unrighteousness. Those who came contributed meaningfully using their daily experiences to drive their points home.

After the studies, i remembered my wife told me to buy torchlight or lamp as the electricity is interrupted often in its supply. After i purchased the lamp, i bought earpiece for myself. It was about 7:20pm i got home.
