The Diary Game || WOMEN AND LABOR PAIN: THE SUCCESS STORY OF MY WIFE AND OTHER MOMENTS THROUGHDAY || 02/03/2026

With joy in my heart, I bring you good news from the city of Uyo and from my family. Recall that many of my posts in recent times have been picturing my engagements mostly with domestic chores. This was because my wife was pregnant and close to delivery, making me deliberately take over the house for her to find some rest.

My post today will not only celebrate and give thanks to God, but will also report the building up before the actual delivery and surviving the labor with baby and mother and father in good shape 😃.

The process started on the 1st of March, 2026. Went to church on Sunday, from our local church to the headquarters where our newly posted priest was inducted into pastoral charge. My wife was not showing any sign of labour until 10pm. when she told me of feeling pain in her lower abdomen. Rising from where she sat to the bed became a bit difficult to make a step. As she got up, she entered the bathroom and came out telling me there was a sign, but I was not sure. Immediately, we called the healthcare center. Around 11 p.m., we called a tricyclist to come around who responded without delay. The nurses' on night duties were ready, provided all their demands were met.

From midnight, she was in pain. I felt this particular labor my wife went through before going into the labor room. My first son's people were around to take care of everything, and while this time was my cross, only the two of us were left.

In the process of finding a means to the clinic, we forgot the flask with hot water, and the nurse in charge really needed it for it to fasten the process (drink warm water or tea). The pain became intense, my night turned to day, and I battled with sleep to keep my eyes open as my wife leaned on my shoulder.

She was told to do exercise, climbing stairs up and down countless times, walking around the premises with me, of course if not me. Who else? The pain became much on her, she did was unable to lie down on the bed 🛌, and I kept encouraging her. She was very strong and determined that she's going in there to come out alive with her baby. From that night, and after a series of exercises, the baby boy finally landed at 6:18am on 2 March 2026.

Close friends came to visit, some brought pepper soup with yam, and gifts of money. One of them cleared all the bills in the health center. It was a thing of joy and celebration. It was after the delivery that I noticed how beautiful the healthcare facility is, newly branded with new structure and well-equipped with uninterrupted power supply by the Akwa Ibom State government.

That day, there was also immunization in the clinic. A lot of people came, and the OPV ward was filled. The ambulance parked in the premises rolled on its own and hit the esthetic rail iron and damaged, but nobody sustained injury, including.

My wife was fine and discharged, and we left in the evening. One of our church members was there with his car to take us home. There were some items I needed to buy, the nearby supermarket made it easy, everything I wanted was intact. I picked the baby bank, diaper, and beverages for my wife and others.

Everything went well. People were calling to pray with us and sending goodwill messages. It was beautiful after the pain came again. But before I close, let me use this medium to thank God for the successful delivery of our second son, and to tell husbands, potential ones and men in particular to keep doing well to support their wife and women in general. The pain of labor and the pain after labor is what women go through.
