My Cane Picture Frame
Hello Steemian
Some few days, I had this feeling of creating something creative with my hands and I decided to make a picture frame with the use of canes and somethings It was not perfect when I started it but step by step it started taking shapes.
How I Made My Cane Picture Frame
| Materials | I | Used |
|---|---|---|
| Cane | White wool | Pattern wood (for the back) |
| A painting to put inside | Pencil | Ruler & Gum |

First step
I use my ruler to take measurements of the canes before I cutted using perknife, measurements was 12 by 15 inches. I started by cutting some cane sticks into equal lengths. These were going to form the picture frame. While cutting, I tried making them also most they same size do that it will balance well when I joined them.
Second step
This steps was the forming the frame work. I arranged the canes into a square shape, two on each side. I used white wool to tight the corner to hold them together and at this point, it started looking like an actual frame
Third step
I added the back. A frame with support at the back won't hold anything. So I used small flat pattern wood and arrange them and glue it up and cover the back side.

Final touches
My touches I did was to add a small rope at the top, so that the picture frame can be hung easily on wall. After making sure that all the joint in the picture frame were strong, I finally had my handmade cane picture frame ready and inserted the image I choose to put.
