A Lesson Life Taught Me
What is the most valuable lesson life has taught you?
The most valuable lesson life has taught me is that I should be wary of the kind of people that I call friends. It is not everyone whom I call my friends or walk with who means well for me. Some people are just after their own self-interest and ready to spoil someone else for their own benefit.
Some years ago, when I entered the university, I was deceived by some people who I even thought were still students in the university, but after some years, I discovered that they had been expelled from the university, trying to put me in the same shoes as them. My relationship with myself affected my academic growth, which I had to start afresh.
What experience helped you learn this lesson? Please describe it.
The experience that helped me learn this lesson is academic. Whenever they released results or pasted names of students on the school noticeboard, the names never appeared on it, and they kept hiding their matriculation numbers from me because they knew they had been expelled from school, which one day, a misunderstanding in my room broke up, and they started insulting themselves by opening up their secret.
How has this lesson changed your life? Or the way you make decisions today?
This lesson changed my life because I got to know the truth about my friends and made decisions that improved my life. After knowing the truth, I got out of the room and distanced myself from them and went to a new apartment, where I reapply for another institution, got admission, and left them behind at the institution that gave me admission.
What advice would you like to give others based on your experience?
My advice would be for students who are just starting school.
Focus on your academic performance before thinking of getting friends.
Be with those who encourage you to study
Don't let emotions break you down
Avoid getting too many friends.
Be confident about yourself and be okay with what you have.
