My Weekly Food Highlight: Take a look.
Beans and plantain porridge |
|---|
Greetings, demure Steemians. Today I'm here to share with you my food highlight for this week, and I extend my sincere gratitude to @ngoenyi for this privilege. My first food highlight for this week is a beans and plantain porridge prepared by me. I consumed this meal on Sunday afternoon. The major ingredients for this meal are plantain, beans, pepper, salt, and onions, and it can be eaten with a spoon or a fork, but I mostly enjoy using a spoon for it. The reason I settled for this meal was because the ingredients were readily available in the house, so I decided to prepare the meal because I was hungry, and I literally prepared it in a little quantity so I could eat it quickly, and below is a link to my tutorial on how to prepare this meal.
Noodles with chicken |
|---|
My second food highlight is these delicious and tasty noodles prepared by me with eggs, chicken, and onions. I consumed this meal on Monday evening. It is mostly eaten with a fork or with cutlery. So that day I went to visit a relative, and when I got home I was so tired and at the same time famished, and I had no food at home, so I decided to make something simple but special for the night. I went out and purchased this delicious chicken from the seller, and I bought some raw eggs and noodles with onions to prepare my meal. The recipes that I used for the meal are quite simple. I added the noodles inside the pot of water on fire and left it for a few minutes before adding its seasonings and onions. When the water I used to prepare it was about to get dried, I broke the raw eggs into the noodles and stirred, then covered, and then added a little grandnut oil to it to give it a nice look. What transpired me to eat the meal was because it was late and I had no other option but to settle for the meal, but I also wanted it to look special by complementing it with the chicken.
Jellof rice with banana, chicken and suya meat |
|---|
My third meal for this week is this sumptuous combination of jollof rice (though I used palm oil to fry), two bananas, chicken, and suya meat. It is often eaten with a spoon or cutlery, but I prefer using a spoon. I ate this food on Tuesday evening. I actually had the rice with the banana at home, but I had no appetite to eat because I was craving protein, chicken precisely. So I rush out to get it. On getting there, I bought the chicken, and I also bought the suya on my way coming back, and that's how my appetite was revived that evening.
Garri and Atama soup |
|---|
My final food highlight for the week is this delicious garri and atama (palm fruits) soup. I ate it this afternoon. The ingredients are atama leaves, garri, and cow meat. I actually ate this meal at the restaurant, but I really enjoyed it. This meal is a local dish, and most people enjoy eating it with their hands after washing or with cutlery. At first I didn't want to order it because I wasn't sure it would be delicious, but the seller reassured me that I wouldn't regret it. Since there was no other type of soup available, she was able to convince me to settle for the meal, and I didn't actually regret buying it after all. The reason I settled for this meal is because I wanted to eat something swallowable since I hadn't eaten soup since Sunday because I didn't have time and enough money to purchase the ingredients I needed for the soup, so that's why I had to settle for the one at the restaurant.
