Breast Self-Examination is the process of observing and feeling the breasts to identify any unusual lumps, swelling, skin changes, or nipple abnormalities or discharge and It should be performed once every month after menstruation. For menstruating women, the best time to perform a breast self-examination is a few days after the menstrual period ends probably after seven days, when the breasts are less tender and swollen. For women who no longer menstruate, choosing the same date each month is also recommended.
Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is a simple method that allows individuals especially the women to check their own breasts regularly for any unusual changes or growth in their breast. It is a quick and easy practice that helps you become familiar with the normal appearance and size of your breasts and makes it easier to notice any abnormalities early. Although Breast Self-Examination does not replace professional medical screening, it is an important step in breast health awarenes and early detection of breast changes can lead to early medical attention and better health outcomes.

Gently squeeze each nipple and look for any discharge, such as blood or abnormal fluid.
3.Feel your Breasts while lying down
Lie flat on your back and use the pads of your three middle fingers of your opposite hand to examine each breast.
Move your fingers in small circular motions and cover the entire breast area including the armpit. Apply firm pressure to feel the different layers of breast tissue.
