Kids Emulate Everything They See. A Quiet Lesson I Observed Today. (23/3/2026)

Hello My Steemit Family! Hope you're all doing well? Stay safe wherever you are. It's yours truly @prosper-1 again. And today I will like to talk about how kids emulate everything they see and also how we should mind how we do things in their presence.

Today I was in the classroom, just sitting down and observing the children, we're done done with our exams, so there was nothing much to do. But during that moment, carried a powerful truth many people especially most parents overlook.

Right here in this simple picture, reminded me that children are always watching and learning.

As I held this little one today ,I couldn't help but notice her eyes, she was very curious, observant and quietly studying everything around her. She was trying to understand everything without saying a word. And that was when I was reminded that children don't just listen, they also emulate.

Many times, many parents focus more on correcting children " Don't do that again", "Behave yourself", "Keep quiet " and so on, without realizing that most of the characters the children exhibit are from them.

Children learn the way their parents talk to others, the way their parents react when they are angry, the way they show love and even the way they handle conflicts. These children are like mirror, they reflect what they see everyday .

Observing this little one today, made me to understand that, if she grows up kind, it would be because she saw kindness around her, if she becomes confident, it would be because she felt safe to express herself. She would become 90% of what she saw around her while growing up.

As parents, we should always ask ourselves, " if my child copies everything I do, will I be proud of the outcome"?. This isn't about being perfect but it's about being intentional because most often than not, children understands examples, better than explanations.

We have to put in the real work. If we want respectful kids, then we must show respect, if we want emotionally strong kids, then we must model emotional awareness, if we want calm kids, we must always show calmness. Because one day those little watching eyes, will become a character.

As parents, we should remember that children may not always remember our rules, but they will never forget how we lived in front of them, so I urge everyone to always be mindful of your actions before them. Thanks for Reading and have a blessed week..🌹
