The Diary Game: Yesterday Culture Came Alive! Our Inter-class Cultural Day And The Start Of School Vacation .(28/3/2026)
Hello My Steemit Family! I hope you all are doing well? It's @prosper-1 again, and today I want to share how we wrapped up this term academic activities with an Inter-class cultural yesterday!. I wanted to post it yesterday, but due to some issues I wasn't able to do so, So let me update you guys how it all went yesterday! Yesterday being Friday, my school officially closed for the term and it was full of fun.
Yesterday I woke up feeling excited for many reasons being that were vacating and at least we the teachers will have a little rest before resumption and secondly, because today was the school inter- class cultural day.
Immediately I woke up, I said my usual morning affirmations, brushed my teeth and freshened up for school. When I got to school , the environment was buzzed with excitement. The children who were usually half asleep in the morning assembly were all wild awake, bright-eyed, dressed in their most stunning traditional attire. It was eye catching.
The first event of the day took place in one of the senior classes, and the energy in the class was electrical, we did practical cooking of soup , as you can see the pot on fire, we also did presentation of food, where the learners came out to give a brief explanation of how the food they brought was made.
The nursery and primary section also melted every adult in the building, they were all asked to sing a song in their dialet and they performed so well.
Events like this are easy to overlook in the rush of school academic calendar and exam seasons, but standing and watching these children yesterday made me to understand that " culture is identity". And identify is everything." When a child dresses in their traditional attire and stand in front of their peers to talk or perform, they're not just participating in a school activity, rather they're learning to carry their heritage with dignity. They're learning that where they come from is something to celebrate and not hide.
I personally learned differently forms of greeting from different tribes, and even different kinds of food. It was quite entertaining and enjoyed every bit of it.
After the festivities wrapped up, the announcement that every child has been waiting weeks for, finally came!! " School is officially on vacation!". The cheer that erupted from the children was something I would not forget easily. They grabbed their bags, told their friends good bye and went back home.
It was really an awesome experience. and we had so much fun. Thanks for Reading 🌹

Greetings my friend ☺️
Lovely children, they're all looking good in their traditional attire. I think when schools organize these kinds of events, it helps bring the child closer to his/her culture. At this point, you also see them asking questions because they want to know more.
Kudus to you all for making the event a success.
