Hello friends, how are you all doing today? I hope all is well and you all are having a nice and wonderful day. Today, I will be sharing with you all yet again another wonderful step-by-step approach to drawing using the blurring shading technique.

Yesterday, the shading method I used to draw my portrait was pointillism, so today we will be using blurring to create the effect of light and shade in a composition.

Below are some of the drawing materials that I will be using to make my drawing and there are;

  • Shading brush
  • Graphite pencil 12B
  • Charcoal dust
  • Card board paper

STEP 1

This is actually one of the quickest shading techniques compared to the rest. In this first step, I started by sketching my face on plain white paper. After I was done with the outlines, I then began to apply my light and shade using a brush.

As seen in the above picture, you can see a little plastic container, and in it, you can see some black dust (charcoal dust). To apply shade, I then used my soft-edge brush to dip inside the plastic and applied it carefully to my drawing.

STEP 2

In the second step, I carefully applied the charcoal dust to my drawing, and I tended to cover more areas compared to the first step. However, when it comes to blurring shading techniques, like in the eye area, you can use your sharp-edged graphite pencil. Most people use a tiny but sharp-edged brush, but since I don't have one, I preferred to use my graphite pencil.

STEP 3

Now, in the third step, as seen above, I had finished the face, and the only thing left was the clothing, which for me was child's play. After about 30 minutes, I had already finished the clothes, which are shown in the picture below.

And after everything, my beautiful masterpiece was set and ready to be displayed. With the above steps, you all now understand how to use the blurring shading technique in drawing. For a recap, all you need is charcoal dust and a soft-edge brush, as seen in the top part of the article.

Dip the brush in the charcoal dust and apply it to your drawing where you want it to be dark. Then, swipe it carefully towards where there are highlights to blend it and make it look professional and nice.

That will be all for my today's drawing stay tune because tomorrow we will be looking at how to draw using scribbling shading technique, if you haven't heard of it before make sure to slide back to my profile

Thank you all for stopping by my post today I really appreciate it and I will like to invite
