The memory diary game: "The Day I Knelt… and Watched My Son Rise.” 👑

Some mornings don’t just begin a day…

They begin a destiny.

There are days you live…

And there are days that live inside you forever.

His first day at Citadel Private School was one of those sacred days.

The morning carried a different kind of light. I woke up before the alarm, my heart already dressed in gratitude. My baby was stepping into a new chapter—and somehow, I wasn’t fully ready.

His uniform was neatly pressed, sitting perfectly on his small shoulders. His shoes looked so new, so innocent… just like his journey. When he wore his backpack, I paused for a second.

Wasn’t it just yesterday I was carrying him in my arms?

We walked into the school premises hand in hand. His little fingers wrapped around mine—not out of fear, but out of trust. His eyes scanned everything with quiet curiosity. New faces. New voices. New beginnings.

And then came the moment.

Before he entered his class, I crouched down beside him to take a picture. That picture… oh, that picture. 📸

I wasn’t just crouching to fit into the frame.

I was lowering myself to his level—to meet him where he is in this season of life.

I looked at him closely. He looked confident. Ready. Brave.

While I smiled for the camera, my heart whispered a thousand prayers.

“May this school build you into a man of wisdom.

May knowledge sit comfortably on you.

May you never lose your light.”

He gave me that reassuring look—the one that says, “Mummy, I’ve got this.”

And in that moment, I felt both pride and a soft ache.

Pride because he was ready.

Ache because he was growing.

As I walked away, I realized something powerful:

We don’t raise our children to remain small.

We raise them to step boldly into rooms we once prayed for.

That day was not just his first day at the School.

It was the first day I saw my little boy begin to stretch into his purpose.

And that picture of me crouching beside him?

It will forever remind me that before they stand tall in the world…

We first kneel in love, prayers, and sacrifice for them.

Dear parents,

Take the pictures.

Crouch beside them.

Hold their hands a little longer.

Because one day, you won’t be adjusting their uniforms—

You’ll be watching them adjust their crowns.

And the memories you create today…

Will be the strength you hold onto tomorrow.

Sort:

Tears of joy are just running down from my cheeks right now. I love the part you said We don’t raise our children to remain small,We raise them to step boldly into rooms we once prayed for this is actually true ma'am.

Children are meant to excel even more than their parent and to step into places their parents were not able to be. You are such a wonderful mum, your words of prayer will not be in vain. It will surely come to pass. I wish him well keep in is pursuit. Keep pushing and keep praying because I believe he will get there soon. Stay blessed.
