West African social activities (WASA)
Good day friends and fellow steemians this my post today and I am talking about the west African social activities (WASA).
This day is a very special day in the barracks, where you will see many activities going on, including different cultures.
However, the culture includes Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo; this culture covers about 70% of Nigeria, while the others cover about 30%, like Efik, Tiv, and Ebiobio, etc.
So they used to come out dancing one by one. This celebration is very interesting because some chiefs come to watch. The celebration is very fantastic.
They start with prayer. That day, we begin with God, we continue with the national anthem, and then we start the event properly.
Then the commanding officer gave his own speech, the Igbo started with their cultural dance, and I was dancing in their mix because that is my culture.
Then we move the northerners, who are the Hausa culture; they dance for some hours, then the Yoruba follow.
They came and danced after the Yoruba finished their dance. The Tiv followed, performing their own dance, which involved moving like a snake. They danced to the tune of war, between the coppers and the soldiers. The soldiers were the winners.
Thanks for reading my p st todand Steem!.
