SEC-S30W5: Family Bonding Activities

Assalam O Alaikum! Family is great blessing of Allah. It gives us love, care and support in every situation. But sometimes due to busy routines we do not sit together and talk about our problems. With the help of this challenge I decided to take part in bonding activity. It improve understanding and relationship. This activity helped me share my feelings and solve problems together in peaceful way.

This time I select Family Meeting and Problem Solving for our activity. I chose this activity because I felt that sometimes we do not get enough time listen to each other. Small problem remain unsolve. This can create distance in relationships. I want to sit together and openly talk about our issues. This activity gave us chance to understand each other better and find solutions team. Also it do not require any money or special arrangement. This made it easy for us to perform at home.

We planned this activity in the evening when all family members were free. We sat together in our living room in a comfortable and peaceful environment. There were three members in our meeting (me, my 7 year old son and my 5 year old daughter. We start meeting with the name of Allah by reciting Surah Ikhlaas.I continue meeting by explaining that everyone will get chance to speak and share their feelings. I also told them that no one will interrupt and criticize anyone. This create safe and friendly atmosphere.
First, my daughter share her feelings. She said that sometimes she feels shy in school and do not want to go. We listened to him very careful and comfort him with love. We promis to support and encourage daily.
Then my son spoke. He told that he find it difficult to focus on studies. And prefers to play games. He also said that Mathematics is very difficult. We discussed this issue and decided to make a proper schedule for his study and playtime. For mathematics I will help in mathematics solving.

Finally, I shared my own problem. I told that due to work I am not give enough time to my family. I promis to set my time better. In this way I can spend quality time with my family daily. In this way we all became very happy. In end of this meeting we all felt relaxed, happy and connected.

During this activity we faced few small challenges. First, it was not easy to gather everyone at same time because of our daily routine. Secondly, children were not very serious in beginning and were more interested in playing.
However we handled these challenges with patience. We chose suitable time in evening and create friendly and relax environment. We encouraged children to participate and speak freely. The setting was very simple. We sat in our living room in comfortable way. There was no need for any special arrangement or decoration.
There was no financial involvement in this activity. It was completely free and done at home. This show that strong family bonding do not need money. Only time, attention and understanding.

This activity brought many positive changes in our family. First it improve our communication. Everyone got chance to speak and be heard. This increase trust and understanding among us.
Secondly, it reduced stress and misunderstandings. When we shared our problems. Wr felt lighter and more relaxed. We realized that every problem has solution.
The children became more confident and happy because they felt important and valued. I also understood importance of giving time to my family.

The most active participants were my children. They enjoy sharing their thought and listening to others. Their involvement made the activity more lively and meaningful. This activity help us become closer and strengthen our emotional bond.
