It is known that at that time, a powerful landowner named Raja Mukut Roy lived in this region. When the common people of the area informed the landlord about the water shortage, he, along with hundreds of people, worked day after day to dig the pond.After a long period of digging, even though the pond became deeper and deeper, no water was found.

In such a situation, the landlord became very worried.Suddenly one night he had a dream that someone was telling him that if the landowner's wife could go to the middle of the pond and perform puja, the pond would be filled with water.When the landlord woke up and told his wife about the dream, she agreed to perform the puja for the benefit of the people.With his wife's consent, the landlord set a day and asked the people to be present on the banks of the pond.

When the people arrived on the banks of the pond on the specified day as per the landlord's instructions, the landlord's wife went to the middle of the pond to perform puja, celebrating with drums and dhakas.At that moment, a fountain of water suddenly started to rise from below.Seeing the rising water, the landlord's wife tried her best to get out of the pond, but failed.Unfortunately, due to the excessive speed of the water, the pond filled with water and the landowner's wife drowned and died.And based on this incident, the lake has been named "Dhol Samudra Dighi".

Many years after the incident, fish farming is now taking place in the pond.It is now a tourist area. Many tourists from far and wide come to see the lagoon.It is located next to Pagla Kanai Union Parishad, just four kilometers west of Pagla Kanai Stand in Jhenaidah city.
